    Default Cobra swepts question

I'm narrowing my choice of pipes down to a select few (also love the Freedom Radius). Can someone tell me if the Cobra swepts are a 2-1-2 design like the stockers? They are advertised as having a "power port" for increased low to mid-range and I'm thinking that's what this is. Also, does this mean there would be a slight loss of power at the top end?

    from their site
The sweeping lines of the Speedster Swept exhaust system follow the curved shapes of the motorcycle to create a great look. The Speedster Swepts create a deep rumble that improves the sound but keeps the noise down. Like all Cobra's Speedsters, the Swepts include the Cobra PowerPort for increased low and mid-range power. They are equipped with full length 2.75-inch heatshields which wrap around 222 degrees and cover the 1.75-inch headpipes. Of course they also have Cobra's Limited Lifetime Warranty.

What ever that means the baffle section is welded together between the 2 pipes. Whether that's a crossover or not I don't know. Been a while since I installed mine

Here is a pics from another member

They are a 2 into 2 pipe. The power port is a small connector or some type of crossover connected between the two pipes. If you look at a pic of the pipes not on the bike you can see it. I am not a tech guy, but they claim it creates the power of a 2into1.

Thanks for the pics B, that's exactly what I was looking for. Not a 2-1-2 but maybe with this "cross-over" some of the benefits of one.

That power port works well too. I've had modified stockers, a couple different DIY exhausts, and the Swepts work better than any of them. I also had a set of the Cobra Speedster Longs on it, which have the same crossover, and they make good torque and hp. At least by the seat of the pants they work well.

The port between the pipes is bigger than it looks too. It's probably 5/8" wide and about 4" long, and close to being equal in cross section to the head pipes.

I feel the same way about the swepts, but many in this forum have said they actually lose power...to this day I have never seen dyno results with these pipes to either confirm or dispute the claims...

there are a few duals out that that have a small crossover feature....apparently it balances out the back pressure...
