    Default power pro installed

well as I stated this was the day. got up and got started about 830 of course I did the 3 easy plugs first the old ones where not to bad a little brown which i expected i knew it was running kinda rich. so the last plug got the socket on the small extention it would not go down on the plug , so went and got a flashlight looked in there and there was the screwdriver end I lost a while back sitting next to the plug glad It would not go on. so got it out and not a problem came right out one short a swivel and a long one. then tackeled the power pro went on no problems to speak of fired right up and purred like a lion. went for a test ride, right away I could tell a differance on the low end, of corse I have 2 miles out on gravel so it is 1500-2000 rpm's all the way out pulled itself even up hill ideling, usually have to give it a little gas up the big hill. deffantly smooths out the throddle response. So it is hot out there and does not run as good in the heat as it does at night. after reading all the posts about it I expected some missing on the running up the rpm's so hit the asphalt and gas it run it up to 7000 smooth through the whole rpm range did it through all the gears except 5th . took the long way to town not running up the rpm except to around 5000 . get in town fill her up it just keeps running better . dang the low end of the rpm range is pulling harder in the heat than it does when it is cold out. seems like the more I am riding the better it is getting ... until on the last road I am going to run it hard through all the gears. well at around 6000 rpm's like the fuel shuts off tried it like 6 times bit it is almost 100 deg. out and deside I will take her out tonight Hopefull just needs to learn the upper rpm's. Im sure that is what it is.... as through the rest of the rpm range it pulling hard.. now cleaning the dirty filters.... and will head back out tonight...

test ride #2 .... well I cleaned the air filters and unhooked the battery for a hour, noticed that the air tube was not seated all the way down , do not know if it was sucking air or not but fixed it .... took it to a closed corse.... and this time I ran it up to redline through the first 3 gears 6 times and the last one she was pulling hard. so took it out for a short 90 mile ride was running great the hole way. but seems to be running hotter any one else notice this but was deffantly running great by the time I got home....

Mine hasn't missed a beat with the PowerPro, it will be interesting to see if yours works the bugs out. Mine ran strong from the first time I ran it through the gears.

That front plug is a PITA even with the right extensions. I have a hard time telling when it's tight enough and I sure don't want to break it off in the head.

BB i wonder if it may be running a little warmer cause you are pushing it a little harder testing it? Also the 100+ maybe? i honestly dont know but its been my experience after an engine mod my hightened sensitivity to anything new on the machine makes me wonder things? I could be way off base though brotha

The PP is probably running a leaner AFR which will make it run hotter. However, I agree with Viper regarding pushing it harder.

Mary's ran a little hotter, but probably because it had problems. Mine has not missed a beat since I put it on. I am putting hers back on next week so I will see if the new board they sent works any better.

Does anyone know if the PP will increase performance on a stock bike?

I love my PowerPro . Just could not seem to get the previous model with the 3 dials dialed in as good as the PowrPro performs for me.

yea it should make it run better with or without mods, and you can add any mods and not worry about it....

That's what I was hoping for. Get the PP first, then it will auto adjust to any mods I might put on.

I haven't noticed mine running any warmer, and I've kind of been watching the head pipes. My swepts leave a small area, about 3/8" wide, of exposed head pipe on the front cylinder. It's just changed to a light gold so I don't think it's running lean or anything. My old Longs were a slight blue in the same area.

I agree Mike. I replaced my Bully FI controller with the Power Pro about 2 months ago now. I have noticed that the bike runs a whole lot better and that is big considering I thought and still do think the Bully from Gman was an excellent unit. For me it came down to one thing and that is, I have no desire at all, not even a little bit to ring out every last pony this bike has. This means, I do not want the expense, time or effort involved in Dyno tunes. So, even with the Bully I always had the thought of, I wonder if the bike is to lean or to rich? Well, with other bikes you can just pull the plugs and have your answer pretty quickly but with the 9, plug pulling for inspection only is not worth the time. In the end I am glad I bought the Power Pro and numbers aside (which I do not need) I can tell the difference in performance and No, I do not think it is a placebo affect. By the way in answer to the other question on running hot. My bike is not running any hotter with the PP on. I have apprx. 1200 miles on the PP now.

Slightly off topic but I've had a power pro sitting on shelf in my garage for over a month now. Hoping to install it this week. How long does it take avg person to install ? I find when BigB or Trod say something takes one hr it takes me two. LoL

It definitely helps the mileage. I was getting 32-36 mpg before, and now it's 36-42 mpg, AND it runs better.

I'm confused... DLP has it for way cheap.. the description sounds like the PowerPro, the pic looks like the power pro.. but the part # is wrong...
http://www.directlineparts.com/produ...=19581&str=291 put the price matches a regular Fi2000R

Although I'm completely happy with my PowerPro it didn't really help my mileage. I had the old fi2000r before. My mileage is basically the same as before but the bike runs better. Maybe it's my riding style. Not sure. But if you're buying it strictly for gas mileage I wouldn't say it's a rule that your mpg will improve. (That's not why I bought it anyway)
