"The force is strong on the DARK SIDE"
"THE DARK SIDE OF THE 9" wrapped over a car tire rather than a moon
"Does my DARK SIDE make you look ?"
"Does my DARK SIDE make my a$$ look fat?"
Throw some more thoughts out there.
I could use some shirts for the 9 !

In an age of synthetic images and synthetic emotions, the chances of an accidental encounter with reality are remote indeed.
THE DARK SIDE
OF THE M109
What other people think of you is none of your business.
Wide you have become. The Dark Side in you sense I.
I just replaced my last rear (car) tire and pulled 24000 miles out of it. I certainly can't complain nor will I go back to a bike tire , at least for this bike.![]()
Ok so I am gonna be a member of the DarkSiders tomorrow.
Have got a 265/35/18 being installed in the morning.
What I would like from you kind gentlemen is a good air pressure recommendation.
I'm running about 45 also.

It would be interesting to know how many darkside riders we have on the form. And I would like to see more pic's.

Big exciting day today with my new rear end taking shape.
Fitted a 265/35/R18 to the beastie. Next on the agenda is to install
a set of 2" lowering bones I have had for a few years.
Winter is a good time to do stuff.
Before it all happens
Had to pull diff off to fit tyre in
Its a balancing act
Secondary drive cover had to come off due to it being
a bastard job trying to get driveshaft back in its home
This made life so much easier!
The big sucker
Practise try
Finally on!
Before and after
Got on and rode it home. Wow what a difference! My very first impression was it felt like
the Pirelli Night Dragon when I lent over. Very noticable flat spot when leaning into a set of corners.
I will see how she goes. Got an Avon 160/60 on order from the states for the front.
So now I am a Darksider ;p
Welcome to the Darksiders
In-brace the DARK SIDE![]()

Now that's some meat on that tire. Vey cool.
The first few miles will feel a little different because its new but after not too long you wont even notice any more. The only other thing you may have is the mental part of trusting the tire in the turns. It will take a few miles of trust in that matter too but I think you'll really enjoy it.
Shiloh, I had to do this as well, 2 times now.
It becomes easier the more you take the hub and diff off. It sure beats taking the pipes off.
I hope I won't have to do this again for another 20,000 miles !
Your bike definitely looks cool with the Dark Side![]()

Thanks, but Im not sure if this message was meant for me or someone else. Maybe Dave109r. I did comment on his photos he recently posted.
I actually ride the M90 with a 205/50-17. Unfortunately I can't squeeze the same amount of rubber under the rear of my bike, though it does make it a little easier to remove the rim. I have been looking into replacing my stock rear rim with a 109 so I can get just a little more width out of it. I'll keep in mind the shaft removal in case I run into the same problem in the future.![]()
Thanks Big O and Shiloh. Yes I guess it will take a little while to build up trust on the lean. Been chatting to some mates over here and they run 38psi so may see if that helps.
I am not too worried about the handling as I have read stacks of reports on this mod and if they can do it well then so can I !!!
I have a new front tire on its way. A 160/60 Avon so that may calm things done. But she sure looks mean from behind now.
Dave, mine handled a little weird at first also, so I went down to 37 psi to round the edges a little.
After about 500 miles I went back up to 45 psi and it handles like a dream.
I have the 160 up front as well and went up to 40 psi in it.
Give it a little time to get accustomed to it.
It'll come around.
