Default Has your 9 ever done this??????

Sunday I was out, riding with 2 friends, 1 with aqn 09 V-Max, the other a Harley street glide, he has a lot of motor work, 110 cid. and it does make 113hp. the wheel, I've seen the dyno runs, beautiful paint and about 20 grand in chrome. We ran from 20 to 120, I pulled him hard in 1st. gear, and (ooops) I missed 2nd gear, he pulled me by 3 bikes, I chased him down caught his bag at 100 and started to pull him at 125, the problem is, at 135 my bike started to wobble, I have 3000 on the tires, no balance problems, just a weird wobble. I thought it was the road, so, we did the run again, I didn't miss 2nd this time, and pulled him by 4 bikes, and over 6 at 120, but again, at 130 to 140 it was just a weird feeling, I checked everything on the bike, tire balance, roll out, it has a 130 front. 250 dunnie e3, forks areok, everything is tight. Just wondering if anybody ever felt that wobble, it never did it before. Or, may be it was me, shaking the bars. thanks, sorry the message was sooo long.

yeah mines does that too, going that fast your wheels start to get light is my best way to describe it. But I normally dont go that fast on her I just did that to make sure everything was aight when I put her back together

Dunlop E3's are known to wobble. Some are smooth, others wobble at 100+. Before worrying about the bike, I would suggest going with a Metz tire if you are going to run high speeds and see if that cures it. I don't usually go that fast but I have had it to 140+ and it was smooth. Then on another set of E3's, I had a wobble about 105. this set is smooth to 130+

Mine did the same with that set...a crazy wobble at about 130. Just changed the tires to the 160/260 metz and dyna beads, got her up to about 125-130 last weekend..no wobble at all. Nice and smooth.

Other than the tires causing the wobble, are your forks set high in the triple clamps?

I got that wobble at high speed with the Dunlop 130 too. Scary stuff, you back off instantly. This was the main reason I switched to a Metz. 160. No more problem at any speed.

Check your tire pressure! A friend of mine had a wobble around 115.We stopped for about 2 hours and rechecked his tire pressures-frt(25), rear(30). We inflated them to 36 and 42 and the wobble was gone! His frt tire is a 130 continental and the rear is a 250 dunlop E3.

my E3's had a wobble about 125 or so but I would just stay in it and the wobble would go away at about 135. My mets don't have a wobble at any speed. super smooth.

    Default Been there done that

First had perrile deablo's no wobble at 145(great tire sticky and far better than a metz, just dosent last long...remindes me of shinko's sticky but you go through them in a season), went to the E3 and yes at 125-130 wobble Dam near went in to a tank slap scared the snacks out of me. I have to admite i didnt check air pressure and all but I will try it this year. I have up graded the springs for my weight and I know tire pressure is good so give me a few weeks and yes Im going to see if my girl can handel it.. O yea did I mention i was doing 145 with out a helment then it started to wobbel bad OMG not a good feeling at the speed..

Default Oyea I forgot to mention

When you hit the throttle with this bike it has so much tork you may have raised the front end a little, yea it will scare you and if the road had any inperfections in it that dosent help. I would say give it another shot on a better rode and just get comfortable with the tork...lol.. I personaly think when you were getting on the BULLY you were craking the throttle and shifting the gears which gave you a little air..lol this bike is a beast it will come up easy..Im impresed with it...

I must say never have I had that happen, you running 40psi up front and 42psi rear? That's where mine is at and no issues. But that can't be cool

I have the metz 260/160 combo and noticed I get a wobble between 130 and 135 and many different roads so I know that's not the problem. After 135 it smooths out but still an eerie feeling

I check it before I ride, it was 36 front, 41 rear, I'm looking into the 160 front, I checked out D-Rides and like the look, the frontend forks are not high, I never touched them, other than 2 inch risers. I'm thinking about going to Metz, I have them on my Busa, and like them. Thanks everybody for the info. This is is why I love this fourm, great info. I rode it to work this morning, and just ran it to 130 once, no wobble.

I do get a wobble with the 160 Metz at speed. Not sure why, but it's there. I run about 40 lbs in the front. I do have A little over 2 oz dynabeads in the front. Not sure if I need more.

I had high speed wobble with the Dunlops over 110 mph. Replaced them with the Metz 280-160 combo and Dyna beads, smooth as glass up to 140 mph. Never heard of anyone having a wobble with a Metz unless it was a balance issue.

    Default wobble at 130 km

Mine started ato have a wobble at 130 km after I installed a set of Metz same size as original Dunlops bike came with.
Call me nuts i pushed the bike through it it settled smooth at 160km at 180 the wobble showed up again.

I will rebalance the tires see what happens.

I had the wobble with the E3 130 starting at 90mph until I increased the air pressure to 40psi. No more wobble but the front end feels real light coming up on 130mph. Lately I've been taking Big B's approach. What's the hurry? Slow down and enjoy the ride.
