Default I need HELP PLEASE (Clutch Cable)

I'm going out of town next week for 9 days on Rolling Thunder to honor our fallen Vets. I know I should've checked this earlier BUT anyway....

First where can I get a stock replacement clutch cable online, I can't find one anywhere.

Most important thing is, where/how do I check for wear on the cable on the engine side? I don't even see where it goes into the engine. The lever side looks good to go.

Is there a how to that I can print out and take with me (Just in case) I need to replace the cable on the road?

Any/All assistance would be MUCH appreciated.

    Default All is ok

I found my eservice manual and inspected the cable on the engine side and it looks good to go too, Thank God. TRod just turned me onto an online store where I can purchase a stock replacement cable.

I did fine on the +3 brakeline, it was the +3 clutch cable I couldn't get. Had to order mine from DLP. Says it shipped yesterday.

Pack a piece of heavy string about 4' long, you can use it to keep the replacement cable tied up so it fits under the cowl. Then if you need to replace the cable on the road, you tie the string to the top end of the old cable, pull the cable down through the radiator bringing the string with it. Then you tie the string to the bottom end of the new cable and use it to pull it through. Once you get down to the front of the engine you can feed the cable by hand back to the transmission.

You can swap out a cable in less than 15 minutes this way, and you don't have to remove the radiator cover or anything else to do it.

Life has no remote control, get up and change it yourself.
