Default FI light on. How to check it?

So, my bike has the FI light on solid. It started just before I went down to Daytona for bike week and it's been on ever since. I talked to a mechanic at a suzuki shop down there and he said it was probably due to either water in the fuel or ethanol. Does anybody know what could be causing this and how to check the FI light without paying a hundred bucks to a shop? The bike runs well, has some power loss but not a very noticeable loss. Also, before I went to daytona I had to put about a gallon of regular in it from a gas can but took it down to the gas station after and topped off with premium. Also, it went through a couple very heavy rains around the time I went to daytona. Thanks for any help I can get.

Thanks for the link guys. However I tore it apart and didn't see what was in the link. I posted the question in the other thread though.
