    Default Homie don't play that

Ok, I adjusted my HID as members suggested. I'm in Louisville as I write this. On the 60+ mile trip up here from home I can't count the times I was flashed by oncoming azzholes. Well folks I'm done or as Dayman Wayams used to say on In Living Color, Homie don't play that. My only option now is to give the oncoming azzhole a quick flash to indicate that I'm NOT driving with my high beams on. Any other suggestions would be much appreciated.

I'm sure if you was to stop them and ask who the "azzhole" is they would say YOU for putting in the brightest blinding illegal headlight possible

don't recall anyone else having a big problem with being flashed as many times as you, maybe you need to adjust it down even more?
would you like to meet your 9 coming down the road?

really suck if they close their eyes and drift into your lane

What method did you use to adjust the beam. Maybe it's still not low enough. No problem here either.

    Default Thank you very much

For referring to me as an azzhole bro. I fought for 20+ years to ensure that we ALL had the right to speak freely. If you got a problem with that then maybe you should consider taking up residence outside this country. I have a few good ideas of a few third world countries that MIGHT accept you brother.

    Default I did as instructed

By a few members here. They told me where the adjustment screw was and how to adjust it either up or down using a wall to adjust the beam lower. It's already pretty low already. If I adjust it much lower it'll be pointing at the front fender. Maybe there's something else I can do, but what?

The bulb is installed correctly right? meaning is it seated properly in the housing? It seems to me, if you're still getting flashed, it's still too high.

I'm sure there are professionals in Louisville, maybe one could help you with your problem and you could stop annoying people.
Political correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

I also have HIDs in my bikes and car and don't get flashed on any of them. I did have to adjust them all correctly after installing the HID, however. I agree with those who are saying it still needs adjustment. Good luck getting it right!

I don't care for the HID lights to begin with so I just run a silverstar bulb. I get flashed with it every once in a while but it's funny cause some times I'll get flashed by every car or truck I pass and then go for weeks without anyone flashing me. In the daytime I run with the hi beam on all the time. My only concern with the brighter lights at night is that some people in the oncoming lane will drift into my lane. They get target fixation just as we do.

Tbar why don't you sit on your bike and take a picture of your beam pattern on the wall and we can see if we can figure out what the issue is.

Either it's adjusted too high or for some other reason (like the bulb is positioned wrong in the housing) the beam is spraying everywhere. I don't blame these azzholes for flashing you. It's dangerous to annoy other drivers like that. It just gives them another reason to dislike bikers. Anyway, the right way to do it is to install a projector to get the light properly on the road. Check out the lack of light splatter above the cutoff beam here:

Good details in this thread (ignore the fact that it's an R2, it's all the same install: http://www.m109riders.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=149576

It might be adjusted with him NOT on the bike. But, once he plops his rather plentiful azz on the seat it will aim up a fair bit.

Find flat area where there is a garage door or wall that is at least 17feet away. Measure off that wall to the 17' mark, and that is exactly where the front of the headlight should be. With you sitting on the bike, have someone measure up, from the floor, to exactly where the bulb is. Now, take that measurement, minus 2" and go draw a line on the wall across a few feet. I use blue painters tape and then use the adjustment screw to make the flat part of the headlight beam even with that mark. So, if your bulb, with you sitting on the bike, is 32", mark 30" from the floor on the wall and adjust away.

It also needs to be a little right of centerline. Proper aim is when the hot spot aims at the right white line.

So being retired / ex military gives you a free pass on being an Azzhole. Cracks me up how you play the military card all the time when someone calls you out. Some people choose the military and the others do something else with their lives. Not sure why everyone who hasn't served in the military needs to move to a different country when they are not in "Agreeance" with you. So in your logic of thinking I should get a free pass for being an Azzhole (I know I'm one). I make and repair the power transformers your local electric company uses to produce and step down electricity, so you can type your "stories" on the internet. If you don't like it go back to not using electricity and fire up the candles. Hell free passes for everyone!!!
Now I do appreciate your service and everyone else who has served this country (even CMHGUY ).

I heard a quote this morning a it reminded me of you Tbar.

I think some people on this board get offended way too easy.... They just can't accept the fact when someone is real and speaks what the hell is on their mind. It seems that if it's not PC or inline with someone's beliefs then they seem to attack people. Yes TBar uses the Veteran Card. HE CAN... He fought in the military.... He's up front and in your face. This is why society and our children are like they are now. No one can accept reality. Everyone has to watch what they say and who they offend. If you don't like what someone has to say, don't get your panties in a bunch... Just ignore them and move on with your day. I am similar to TBar. I really don't give a F%ck what people think or say. I'm going to tell you how it is and what is on my mind not caring WTF you think. If you don't want a real opinion don't ask for an opinion. Just like TBar telling people if you don't like it leave. I feel the same way. We have our freedoms and liberties. Don't try to restrict, take away or negate those in any way. I've had family members who have been in the military to fight for these freedoms. If the headlight aiming doesn't work for you, you need to look into a projector housing. Our headlight housings where not designed for HID lights and as such they will spray the light to much for some tastes. The projector housing can be installed inside your headlight housing. The projector provides a cut off line to keep the light out of the oncoming driver's face.

Seems that most here are able to get the light controlled well enough by just adjusted the aim, but if you really want to get control of the light, the projector is the way to go.

Or you can just take the HID out and send it to me.

I doubt that thee is anyone on this board who does not have the utmost respect fot the men and women who have served and for those who continue to serve. No one in the previous posts said anything to the effect of TBar being a ______ for serving the country. Why is TBar offended when someone pretty much told him the truth? Could it have been worded differently? Possibly.

This has nothing to do with being PC or getting offended and I did not put down veterans. I said he pulls the Vet card when it's not even in the same conversation. If someone implied you were an Azzhole you would not say well there's no way I could be one because I was in the military for 20 years and if you don't like it get the F*** out of the country. The things you guys say when going off the deep end just make you look foolish and out of control!

My family members fought for the same freedoms. I may not have been in the Military but I do all my civic duties as an American Citizen. This country also needs people like myself who contribute by working and paying taxes to fund the opperation of this great nation. I honor the Military past and present every chance I get. I think you are barking up the wrong tree!

Default OK, everyone take a deep breath

Let's all just take a minute and remember that NOTHING is more important than enjoying your 109. Now, you guys just slip into some fuzzy slippers, put on a Carpenters CD and chill out with some warm milk. STL TGR: you may need a bubble bath and some Air Supply... I'm not judging...

I love the fact that we have a great forum that I have learned countless lessons from not to mention, made some great new friends to ride with.

What I don't like is the sensitivity going on here. Is everyone so short fused? Geeze. Chill out and just enjoy. Veterans are a little high strung... true. We may even have some screws loose... I KNOW that I do. And just because we served or didn't serve... that is a right that we all have an enjoy. I actually enjoy the drama on the site, but it's even getting old for me and I'm relatively new here. Remember, this is a site that people enjoy because we chose a hobby that lets us do that. Don't keep turning it into a website for venting on each other. Thats my .02.

I think I have the impression you live in the country. I know that it can be pretty dark out on some of those stretches of roads where there are not many other lights. This may be contributing to the people's reaction to your unusually bright light. The lack of others being flashed, is just as likely due to the fact that most of us ride in the city where the lights help reduce the contrast. Just a thought. But I do agree you should still adjust to the right some more. That should get it out of their eyes.

As far as the free speach comments, I didn't see how Jimmy referring to Tbar by the same disparaging epithet was any less of an example of the free speach that Tbar is so found of protecting. Jimmy never insinuated that Tbar had no right to expess himself, he just merely expressed himself in alike manner. Not saying Tbar has no right to take offense, but his argument is quite incongruous. Don't you think?

I'm quite certain that if Jimmy and Tbar were sitting across from each other at dinner, and the same story was told, and Jimmy made the exact same remark, but with a smirk on his face, Tbar would have busted out laughing. But behind the veil of the computer screen, we take things to literally. Tbar, you so often set yourself up so perfectly, we just can't resist taking the swing at those fat pitches you lob out there. Very tempting.

As Bill Murry once said, "Lighen up, Francis."
