I know its a little off topic, but I want to throw in my two cents, so you guys know how stupid gun laws are here in Canada.

I wish I could CC, but the law here says to have a restricted (any pistol or revolver) in transport at any time I need a Valid Authorization to Transport, which is only good between my registered address and a approved gun range. It has to be triple locked and unloaded (trigger lock, in a lock case, in a lock car) at all times, and I have to have all paperwork with me. If I were to get pulled over, and not have a trigger lock or something like that, they would charge me, and most likely go to my house and take my guns pending trial.

Also, we cannot have a .38 unless you are "grandfathered" as they think they are the "choice for criminals"

we have .22 rifles here that are restricted based on how they look to much like an AR.

all centerfire rifle mags have to be pinned to 5 round max, 10 rounds for any handgun.

so to sum it up, the only people that carry up in Canada are cops and criminals, and the rest of us just hope for one side or the other to protect us, and that the politicians wont take away whatever right to personal protection we have left.

That would suck, a criminal set on doing a bad deed only need to worry about a cop? The police are not able to be everywhere

Down south here in the good old USA if the "bad guys" come looking for trouble they are likely to run into a "good guy" who is ready, willing, and legally able to defend himself if the need arises

Just have to ask... do all the gun laws hinder criminals any? I already know the answer but have to ask anyway. And your politicians probably use the same reasons a lot of the dopey politicians give (thank god don't succeed) in the US to try and change the laws here.

"Laws that forbid the carrying of arms... disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes... Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man."

So that is how you got the name:)JK.

Yes some laws are really stupid. Here in Texas once the Luby's massacre happened in 91, that is all we needed to push that right through. My Boss was killed there & a friend of mine Susanna Gratia Hupp lost both of her parents that day. She was the main Advocacy for Texas's CC laws. She became a Representative for our area.

Wow Vigilante, that really sucks and so do the gun laws here in California but after reading yours I guess were doing OK. IMHO though here in the USA our current administration if re-elected (Heaven Forbid) would like to do away with our 2nd Amendment (Right to bear arms) all together...
Hope things get better for both our Countries bro

I'm all about people carrying. If it's done legally. I truly believe that very household should have some type of firearm in their house for protection. I carry majority of the time while riding.

You guys seriously need to sort out your ***** ... no freakin wonder your schools have metal detectors and kids blow each other away ... you bring it all on yourselves.

Just my 2 cents ... you guys scare me.
Thanks for serving... In the Canadian Army?!? Is there such a thing? And thanks for the Terence and Phillip show too.

I carry most of the time I ride things r getting bad now a days. Here u have to watch out outlaw bikers and dope heads. Its been a few cases lately where outlaw bikers clubs have forced guys to give up their bikes. If i know I'm riding along then most likely I'm carrying.

The Criminals are fully protected. If someone were to break into my house and I so much as POINT a gun at them, I would be arrested for unsafe storage. The stupid gun laws here do nothing to protect law abiding folk, but they do create more ways to fine people, and create bureaucratic bull**** committee jobs for overpaid politicians.

I can't even imagine that! That sucks man. The only thing you do when you restrict firearms is make sure the only people that have them are cops and criminals.

And for everyone going "First rule of CC is not talk about CC." I hope ya'll are kidding. Now don't take this out of context; I would never walk up to someone and be like "hey I'm carrying a gun." or be having a conversation with someone out in public and be talking about guns and be like "Oh yea I'm carrying right now." But to never talk about CC is just silly; how can you educate and reform all these flaming libs
Someone else said it thought but if our current president gets elected; we better pray we still have a Repub controlled House at a minimum because he will try to sign some exec order or try to pass some bill restricting firearms nationally.

I love the ignorance of some Americans (I said SOME, not all). Is it ignorance or lack of knowledge? Either way, we Canadians DO have an Army, Air Force and Navy. We are a small but very well trained military as you can see from a couple links I found for you that are recent.

Untill the Brit beat us, we had the 2 previous longest confirmed kills (Good job Brits!)

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Longest...d_sniper_kills

Our Air Force ROUTINLY dismantles your American pilots and we even own a perfect score on your bombing range ... oh wait, no American team did that?! (WHAT?, NO WAY!)

    http://www.rcaf-arc.forces.gc.ca/4w-...g.asp?id=11217

I am not saying your military is crap, everyone in the world knows you are a super power. I would also like to state that I have worked with SEVERAL Americans and most are fantastic people. Just do not try and talk big because your propaganda machine tells you that there is no one better. You have great equipment and more soldiers ...

Here are some facts for you:

Canada has lost 158 Soldiers in Afganistan ... we are about 58,000 strong, forces wide

You Americans has lost more, 1942 but your forces are close to 1 million strong right (Regular and Reserve forces, National Guard ... etc) ... do the math.

This of course does not include Iraq or wounded. (where all of us have HUGE numbers)

I have the utmost respect for anyone who served or is serving their country, even if they are NOT Canadian

Before you open your mouth and try to slam someone elses military or country, know your facts

    Have a GREAT day

Do they have Walmart in Canada? If so, go to Aisle 6, just past the deoderant and shampoo and towards the bottom on the left shelf... Get yourself a friggin sense of humor! They might even be on special. Oh, BTW my northern friend, I wasn't the joker that wrote about "Crazy Americans" and their guns.

There is a small difference in our cultures but I have always considered Canadians one in the same with us. So, take a chill, drink a skunky-a$$ moosehead or labats and take a soothing maple syrup bath. That will calm you down.

Boys! Boys! When I was in The Stan, I was colocated with quite few Canadian Army personnel. Real good people, used to provide security for a number of them on various taskings in our AO. And both my principals in the CN program I was in for a while were Canadian too............still stay in contact with one of 'em. We used to go to the weekly security briefs at the Canadian PRT...............good messhall and we got to watch CBC on sat TV. When we failed to receive any meaningful support from our Corporate higher ups and our DoS/INL masters, for the possibility of being over run at our work site, or just needing to evacuate if besieged, the Canadian PRT Commander graciously volunteered to incorporate our op into their emergency plan. Had his intel people consult and coordinate with me for a couple weeks until we got a plan and several alternatives worked up...............we were good to go after that. Good memories in a bad place for me.

While with 1st Group and 2nd BN @ Lewis, we cross trained with lots of Canuks, Aussies, and Limeys. The Canuks were just like us, almost Good Ole' Boy as us. I was just busting chops. Sorry man, it is just something I hear all too often from so many Americans ... If you were just busting chops, I appoligize. Trust me though, if I was to say something along the same lines as you said I am SURE someone would have spoke up. Americans are 10 times more patriotic about there country than any other country (My opinion)

I agree with both you and Flanker when you say we are alike. We are an Americanized country ... TV / way of life / etc.

After 15 years of service I am about to embark on a 6 year tour down in the states working for NORAD. Everyone I know who has been there has already told me to watch out for the culture shock and the way the US military (Air Force) thinks. I am ready, I just want to mod my bike and play softball ... so I guess I am already thinking like an American!

Have a blast while down. Yeah, the most Important thing you can learn from the Air Force is: How to improve you golf swing.
Now, Get yourself a PBR, enjoy the ride, and keep the rubber side down.

I said it before; and I'll say it again

    My turn..

Hey! It's startin' to get warm, isn't it Bro! I'm in the large urban wasteland just to your south. 10 more weeks and I'm OUTTA HERE! w00t! Had a coworker/friend stationed up there on my last tour here in '09. They still have a C-RAM up there? I remember him saying he was real impressed with it's noise level when it fired.

Been quiet lately (except the local kids haven't been playing well together out in the R Zone). Hope it stays that way! Anyway.............stay safe, and hope you're home soon!
