Default I got off CHEAP THIS TIME

Got letter from my lawyer today. My recent speeding ticket was amended down to ONLY 90 MPH in a 70. The fine was ONLY $40.00 and court costs were ONLY $143.00. I paid the lawyer ONLY $350.00 for a toal loss of ONLY $533.00.
WHAT AM I SAYING? DO YOU HAVE ANY idea how MANY mods I could've purchased for that kinda green?

Or you could have rescheduled you court appearances a few times and increase the probability that the Police Officer would not show up because he lost track of your individual case, other cases in his log, or other personal reasons. That would have probably left you with additional monies in you pocket and your lawyer asking what just happend. Hey but at least is now over with and the only thing you might have to add is the additional insurance premiums.

Bwaaa haaaa; Have never laughed so hard in my life... As a matter of fact, I am still laughing at your comment while thinking that somewhere deep inside it could be a fact that This Boy Ain't Right.

Yeah, that was kind of cheap. Mine cost me close to $2000 with lawyer and court cost, but nothing ever showed up on my record.

You paid $350 to get 8 mph knocked off your ticket. Hmmmmmm, for some reason that seems like a lot of $ for such a small reduction. I think you maybe got screwed.

I was fined $1200 for doing 88 in a 55 and the judge reduced it to a warning. My lawyer was a friend returning a favor, so I didn't have to pay him.

Agreed! It should have been knocked down to a non-moving violation for that price. This will still go on your insurance as a speeding / moving violation. I would ask your attorney to see if he/she can reduce it to a defective equipment violation.

I was clocked at 98 in a 55, but the cop chased me for almost two miles before I saw him behind me and pulled over. I didn't see him coming in the opposite direction when he clocked me. I'm not sure how fast I had actually gone, as I told him I wasn't looking down at the speedometer when going that fast. I actually looked back to see where a friend of mine was that I was riding with and saw the blue lights at the bottom of a hill I was climbing, probably 1/4 mile behind me. I knew it was for me so I pulled over and waited. The lawyer was $1500, court cost and fine was $350, and I took a $150 defensive driving class prior to trial on my lawyer's advice. I was sick for a while over the whole mess.
