Heat them up lightly and try applying them. The previous owner of my bike put black LE stripes on it......and I took them off. They just didn't work for me but I will say whoever did them, they did a good job.

Are you putting them on wet or dry? Also what brand of vinyl are they?

Thats why I had mine painted. I did put some pinstripe decals on my wifes bike andh used the wet method and a rubber bodywork squegee (not sure it that is spelled correctly). Anyway Bob is the man.

I just plan on doing everything twice when I start it and that way when it takes 3 times to get it right I'm only half as mad.

It will say the brand on the back of the paper the decal comes on. Where are you having the most trouble getting them on? The front fender can be impossible if the stripe is too wide.

I have a larger 3" stripe in the middle with some 1/4" stripes on the outside... all the way down my bike. I have a buddy that owns a sign/vinyl shop, it took both of us about 4 hours to get them to lay just right. We used some application fluid and lots of patience. It took both of us to get them srtaight, but man it looks good, and we went thru a good bit of vinyl. The 1/4" stripes were easy, it was the 3" that was the bear, especially on the front fender. But he can do anything with vinyl and I preffered to go that route, so if next year I want copper stripes I can just pull the silver off and do it to it!!

I took mine to a vinyl car wrapping and they did the entire application for me for ($230).

If you need the excel file I can email it to you. When I took this to them they said I had 50% of the work complete by having the dimensions. These dimensions are exact (or very damn close) to the factory stripes.

That is cool, I wouldn't have guessed. Was that a thin mil film on the forks, so it would stretch well around the contour?

I'm not sure what they used but it has been on for almost a year / 5,000 miles and still looks great!

    Default wrap

That's an interesting approach, wrapping it. Is the fender, for example, entirely wrapped (red + black)? Or, is it clear + black?

BTW, I'm about 3 blocks off of HWY 109 - Babler View (near Clayton & 109).

it is hard as chinese arithmatic to apply these stripes wet dry or otherwise just go to a sign shop tell them what you want and wait for them to tell you its done but if you insist on doing it your self seperate them before you apply do the middle first and then the small stripes

    Default Front Fender

Did mine myself... had a shop cut the vinyl (mine are 3"wide with 1/4" space and 1/4" stripe)...On the fender you will have to cut the 1/4" stripes from the backing and do them separate from the large stripe. I used some water with a splash of dish soap on the sticky side of the vinyl so I could move it around a bit to center it. Work from the center out on the large stripe as to keep out the air bubbles. Where it wrinkles up on the edges run a hot hair dryer on each wrinkle one at a time...(heat and cool..heat and cool, heat and cool)and as the wrinkle cools it will shrink, tighten, and flatten itself. Then run your thumb out from center to edge to get any excess water out, and Presto its done!! A trick to help if you have some small bubbles when you are done is use a needle and pop them and press the air out(use a needle not a pin and the small hole will not show) Get some extra vinyl too, in case you mess up. Having extra relieves some stress as well Cost...$22 for the vinyl
