Default Hope you fellas had a Happy New Year. Time for the New Miles Resolution =)

Well I was pushing to get 30K on my bike before I went into surgery in November but I was about 1k down. After a month of R&R I got back in the saddle did some around town riding and eventually met up with Rudeboy109 and a handful of other fellas to roll on a few more miles to turn that 30k. I was able to squeeze out 300+ for the day which wasn't bad considering my neck muscles are still somewhat weak still but now I only needed about 500 more to reach my personal goal.

Lucky for me, two days later another buddy of mine wanted to put some miles on his new bike so we left early in the morn and ventured off. We took the back roads through the hills of Frazier Park heading to hwy 33 then to hwy 166 missing most of the Holiday traffic and cops until we were a little closer to Santa Maria on our way to Solvang. Once we reached civilization again we hit the holiday madness. It was worth it though because there is a motorcycle museum in Solvang that is well worth seeing.

Just a heads up, it runs $10 pp and you'll probably have to call someone to arrange a time to have it open it for you. I would share pics but I forgot my camera and my phone that day, DOH! Anywhoo, long story short, we made our way back home cutting through the hills trying to avoid as much of the holiday traffic and patrols as possible and was able to score a 400 mile ride that day. The only problem was I was still 100 miles shy and needed/wanted to spend time with my wife on New Years Eve SO, I am starting my New Year @ 29909 miles and hope to have 60k by next year.

My question to you is: What is your personal mileage goal for this year?

Sorry Bro. my bike is an 08 and it has 3500 on it. Most of mine is down to the strip and back. My little 150 with you guys shut me down for 2 days with my back. I love to ride but just can't do long runs anymore. But that darkside 90 of yours was right in front of me through the canyon and I got to watch the rear tire in the corners and it sure seemed to work great. Never saw it squirm or anything but track like a rail. Was fun.

Ditto. Getting 250-300 during the week on the commute in heavy traffic. Anything else on the weekends is just gravy (and will take all I can get )

I sure am glade you made it out that day. It was a pleasure meeting you and chatting about choppers and stuff, at least the best I could. I could tell Rudeboy109 was a bad influence on you after you said you weren't really supped to have bacon and or caffeine but I hope Momma and the Doc will still let you come out and play even if it's just a short run. I don't mind making the stretch to visit.

Rudeboy109 and SoCal-LE I completely agree. I sure hope Tourmaster sends my heated jacket soon. I started work again on Monday and come home at 1am. It's just a little bit nippily outside.

I believe this is in order.... Now, back to the conversation...... and how Rudeboy109 turned into Badboy109.

Weren't you guys talking about mileage goals for 2012?

I don't have mileage goals, except ride just about every day it's not raining. I also plan to take at least 4 bike trips this year. Laughlin River run, Sturgis, the M109r International Bike meet and a four day trip with Mrs. Bujee1

But if I could make a resolution:

If I can get a ride with you guys at least every other month it would be a good year.

I was going to comment on the quote but it's gone now. The topic came up while zonker was eating as a joke and I believe Rude mentioned the same thing about how could he be a bad influence when he was having a diet Coke. I really wasn't trying to get your goat brother, only reminiscing.

I have to agree with ooinkk as far as seeing how many new places to see as well. I have seen a lot of pretty country on my travels and want to see much more. A buddy of mine started me into thinking about how many miles we pulled in a day when he started me into distance riding. It is sort of a competition between he and I to see how well our bikes hold up and if we didn't ride together, where we went and how far away it was for the day.

I haven't been to Sturgis yet. I did go to Laughlin last year. We began by heading to Vegas then started the next day with Hoover Dam then over to Laughlin. That was a nice ride. I'd still like to try Hollister for a day run at least for names sake.

Shoot! I did forget to mention that was on my list. I was thinking Bun Burner with 1500 in 48hrs that way I can get the Saddle Sore Iron butt the first day then ease on the final 500 the second day for the Bun Burner. If anyone is interested in the 1K in 24hrs for the Iron Butt, lemme know. I know myself and one other person for sure will go. They say it can usually be done in about 14 hours.

Looks like they've changed the ruling a little since the last time I looked at it but here is the site that will explain it a little better in detail.
