    Default VA board is Dead

So here is a new thread. I will be heading up to the Staunton 109 meeting tomorrow after attending the open house from 11 am to 1 pm at Ken's Cycle in Highland Springs. A few months ago I bought an unpainted smuggler from Corbin and had it painted to match my bike (German Racing Green). I know about the British stuff but this came from Germany so it's probably their version being a little darker. After getting it painted it was installed on the bike but would not latch and the lid was slightly off center. I sent it back to them after calling them about the problem. I included a detailed note with drawings explaining the problems. It took 3 months to get it back but it came back with the paint still in perfect condition and the smuggler fit and works perfectly. I am happy now. It's like I have read on this website so many times, they make a very good product but their customer service will tax your patience.

Now after that comment I don't know what to do with this framed 8X10 photograph of 3 guys after the completion of an Iron Butt ride. Also in the frame is an IBA sticker. Mmmmmm, maybe sell it on Ebay, the frame is worth a couple of bucks.

For those of you that see me getting razzed from time to time about babysitting. Bear with me, here's an explanation. My daughter is a nurse and her husband is a policeman. 3 or 4 times a month their schedules conflict and they both are working at the same time. 2 years ago my daughter had twin boys to go along with a then 2 year old. I am retired. I was asked if I would consider babysitting on those "conflicted" days. They would let me do it IF they could pay me. I objected to the pay but my daughter insisted. She has since had another boy who is currently 6 months old. Now there is a 4 year old boy, twin 2 year old boys, and the 6 month old boy. A day of babysitting usually involves 5 hours until one of them gets home from work. So I spend all of that time with my grandsons, get paid $225 - $300 a month which is gas and food money because I like to ride, 7 certified Iron Butt rides and my 3 year old 109 has 46,000 miles on it. I think it's a pretty good deal.

Yes, I was there for several hours on Saturday afternoon but most of the guys were out on rides. Enjoyed seeing the bikes and talking to Harris. I am planning on more time next year.
