Default I googled "Fastest Harley Davidson Motorcycle"

I was eating lunch and googled "Fastest Harley Davidson Motorcycle" and the first two results are the links below:

I have no personal hatred for Harley's, I am intrigued by all cruisers and just wanted to see where they stood.

Search result #1 is a long and interesting read, I have no idea who this guy is.

    http://www.goingfaster.com/angst/noharley2.html

And this was search result #2, it lead to a Harley Davidson forum. It gave me a new respect for our bikes and how great they come stock.

I love where they say I got mine up to 97 mph or what ever, My thought is to say nothing till 145+ for a cruisers,, to infinity and beyond for sport bikes. P.S. I dont ride motorcycles for images or coolness, to me its mearly adult toys. I like my toys.

I liked that part too. I am so glad we have the bikes we do, I had no idea how great they were when we bought it.

Darnit, now I am scouring the Harley forums reading their responses to people who say they are going to switch to a 9 lol. Most of the responses aren't happy ones. :-)

    Too true Big B :-)

I have been test riding other cruisers lately to see where our bikes stand. Victory and Triumph will let you test most of their bikes, its really fun. I also rode a Ducati Multistrada, which of course is not a cruiser but I did very much like that bike. The other cruisers I rode, Victory Vision, Triumph Rocket III and Victory Hammer, all left me wanting something. I didnt know when I bought the 9 used from an in law that it was the bike that it is. With every new test ride I become more and more impressed with our Boulevard M109R

there is a guy near here who has the fastest street harley. he run's in the 10's or lower (i can't remember) but this bike is heavily modified. he is a engine builder so he know's his stuff. i wouldn't want to try to ride it on the street.
had a friend swear my 109 would never out run a harley. i just laughed at him, then he referred to that bike. i told him stock on stock no contest. he just got madder and madder. sad part is he don't even own a bike!

Thats funny :) From what I have been reading, the Harley gents get kind of upset when their bikes are being compared to other bikes, especially superior ones. I guess I can understand though. With all the hype and money that goes into those legendary bikes, its difficult to hear that it is low performance. I haven't test ridden any yet, they are on my test ride list for sure, but I foresee me being underwhelmed by them. Hopefully I can test ride a big V-Rod, then I could at least attempt to compare a Harley to ours. Thats the one to ride, right?

Just sit on a V-Rod and you will discover that they are small, almost toy like. It felt very uncomfortable to me after coming off my BIG 9.

    Default Funny seeing this thread

after just getting back from the North Cascades loop here. 130 miles of all twistys. I stopped at big lake eatery and there was a beautiful chopper sitting out from with a 300 rear tire and an S&S power plant. I had lunch next to him and we both went outside, He fired his up, after about 10 seconds of cranking, sounded pretty good, well he left and gave it all it had, I kinda just snickered to myself. I gave him a 5 minute headstart then i started my assault on him. Didn't take very long to find him and following him for a while in the corners I was getting bored, First straight way I gassed it, and when I went around him I looked at the speedo 110 and climbing. I put my eyes to the road at that point cause a 20mph corner approached LOL. Sure is fun blowing buy anything that prowls the street.

The VRod would be the only Hardley to buy, and that is because it is really not a Hardly Motorcycle. The engine is water cooled, does not run both rods on a single crank arm, and believe is fuel injected (granted newer Hardleys are injected now). Why suddenly Hardley has a REAL motor you ask? BECAUSE IT WAS DESIGNED BY PORSCHE!!!!!!. It was developed to get Hardley competing in racing again, but fell through so Hardley built a production bike around it.

after riding the 9, then setting on a v-rod it fits just about like a thong, gets stuck in the crack,

and the v-rod is the bike that they race in the nhra pro stock motorcycle, it has a 160 cubic inch motor that is the max c.i. for a Harley, while the Suzuki in-line 4 is limited to 101 c.i.

oh boy there are some GREAT quotes in that one if you take the time to read it

"Building a American superbike using a Harley V-twin is like trying to make a really great chocolate shake when all you have to work with is premium milk and old dog shi+. It just won't work, no matter how hard you blend it."

"I get so tired of those "AMERICAN THUNDER" T-shirts.
    American Thunder?
What a joke! You should be scared of thunder. The only thing I'm scared of when a Harley is near is that either a piece is going to fall off and cause me to wreck, or I'll slide in a patch of oil that the Harley leaked onto the road ahead of me. American Thunder my ass! Thunder is powerful and loud. Harleys are just loud. I think the truth in advertising should apply to Milwaukee as well, if so, it would be called "American Noise"."

"Simply put, a Harley is God's way of saying that you have too much money and not enough brains."

the vrod is the only hardley out there that would even be considered a decent harldey, but most hardley guys dont even consider one because your right eyebmx the motor was designed by prsche. and have you ever sat on one before my brother inlaw has one and they are so top heavy which is funny because the gas tank isnt even on top of the bike its under the seat.
