Hey - do people 8+ hours out drive w/ trailer? or ride to get there? Guess it depends... Also - do a bunch of vendors show or is it mostly riders? Would love to check it out.

Some people from Canda ride down, some from even farther away in the US also ride in. Then some from even closer trailer. We trailer and we're only about 4 hours away, mostly because my wife likes to pack a lot of stuff.

No vendors, just riders. There are some of the board vendors, like Ducks and ThrowerB that come, but nothing like Kuryakyn or other large companies.

Well, Looks like I'm out for the MAM. Been off the grid for awhile due to some very serious stuff here at work and of course Sandy. Been on a 12 on, 12 off schedule for a few weeks now.We had entire areas wiped off the map. Very sad situation. Anyway, reached out to Ryan back in Sept. about the dates for the MAM. Up in the NY area and many areas up in the North East our kids go to school right to the 2nd-3rd week of June. For us with older kids in the high School that means graduations, proms and so forth. Reached out to Ryan and he said he would look at the dates and see if there was any wiggle room front end or back end. Was hoping to at least be able to make 2 days at least. But seems that won't happen since Ryan never bothered to get back to me. Again, I have been off the board for some time but this was back in Sept. and I did check a few times for PM's since I needed to pick my vacation by Oct 5th. Well that came and went. So I did pick vacation days before and after the listed dates in hopes that things would work out. I did not expect a wholesale change in dates to help just me but I'm sure there are others up my way that are in the same boat which I let Ryan know as well. Bottom line, I know folks get busy and things happen, I live that myself. But a simple answer from Ryan that any changes would not work would have been nice. Instead I come on here tonight while on a break at work since I have been without power for 6 days at home and I find the dates set and already 4 pages deep. Again, I do understand things happen but for a guy who is on here everyday it would not take much to simply let me know the deal. While both my wife and I are disappointed to not be able to attend, we wish all of you a safe trip, enjoyable time and as always safe riding. later

As I said to you, these dates have been running for 6 years now. I came to these dates because of other ralies in the US. I myself might have to take the last day of school off to make the meet on time. As we are ending school much later this year. No matter what dates I or anyone else picked, there are always going to people that are not good with them. It was great meeting you for the first time last year. And hopefully you can make some of the meet, but if not hope to see you at the 2014 meet. If I did not reply to your PM, I'm sorry. I do try to get to all of them in a timely fashion.

I hope you and your family were safe and not effected from Sandy also.

Hey Ryan, I am not that full of myself to think you were going to change the dates of the meet for me. I sent you a PM telling you my situation and letting you know we would not make the the meet in 2013. I also let you know that there could be others here in the NY area in the same predicament as myself. It was in fact you who offered to look at the dates to see if there was any wiggle room. Again, not my suggestion at all. I did look back at the PM's to see if I may have read it wrong but that was not the case. I do appreciate the time and effort that you, Linda and many others here not mentioned, put into the meet. While my wife and I are disappointed not to be able to attend the meet and hang out with a lot of our new friends that come from all over the map, we do have to be here where we belong with our youngest daughter for her big day graduating High School and attending her senior prom. Unfortunately, as a front line ES cop I have been working non-stop since hurricane Sandy devastated many communities I work in as well as the very town I live in. Within 5 blocks of my home the water was 5-8 feet deep. My father-in-law lost everything house, cars, work tools. So, I hope everyone is safe and doing well especially my fellow NY'ers/ Long Islanders. In the end family will always trump my hobbies as I know many folks here will agree.
