Everyone over here is sitting on pins and needles, just waiting to see what happens. It looks like we'll get lots of rain and some areas will get over 2 feet of snow. I've heard as much as 5 feet in the mountains.

Thanks for thinking of us too Ron. We don't get it like you guys do, and thankfully no where near as often.

We sit and wait to see what we get... Everything has closed or cancelled for monday and tuesday around here. Food stores are plucked clean and gas stations are running out of fuel already and it's not even here yet. Best of luck to everyone that will be affected.

How do you guys/ gals deal with that?
I am from west coast so we just sleep through earth quakes (less than 4.0). What are the preparations that you have to take to protect your items in the garage?

They will be safe. Heck they may be gone before sandy gets here. No limes needed.

I never understood why people buy bread, milk & eggs during a storm.
What can you make with that when here is no electricity ?

What can you make with that when here is no electricity When you have been thru as many Hurricanes as we have you have multiple cooler with food and beverages so you dont have to open the fridge to conserve the temp inside there. Then you have propane for cooking .We were without power for a week last year that propane was a blessing.

Just starting to feel the early effects with her not even here yet. Steady downpour with the storm drains already working overtime to clear the water. thanks for the thought Ron. Everyone stay safe, this one is going to be bad.

Great....this part of the Hudson valley floods if ten people water their lawns at the same time. And it's just ramping up- the wind is getting stronger, the leaves are blowing, and I'm eyeballing the two huge trees across the street that still have most of their leaves.
