    Wink Made me smile

Firstly, you have to understand that there are not a lot of Boulevards in Brisbane and even fewer 109s. I was riding down George St in the city this after noon and an M109 came up beside me and normally we would have at least nodded to acknowledge each other more than likely lifted our visors and said G'day.

This guy wouldn't even look over, we were side by side at 2 sets of lights and no reaction.

I can only assume he was in awe of my C109RT and was embarrassed to look over

There's a good chance he didn't know you had a Boulevard. I get confused on the road. The fenders and all would have thrown me off. Honda's, Kaw's, and Yamaha's look alike when you're riding and can't really look. That's from me, who's only been back since April.

2011, Candy Indy Blue. I call her Cinderella...in the beginning, I had to be in before sunset. Not falling totally for the mod trap, just minor looks. She's plenty of bike, and I like it the way it is. I'll hit 13,000 after MAM, and working on a lot more.

Been there, done that. I try not to zone in, but sometimes it happens.

I can relate! Was stationed at Minot AFB in the 70's. I had shirts with those things on them...State Tree - Telephone pole. State Bird - Mosquito....thanks for those memories.

As I say to my kids "just because you say "no offence" doesn't give you the right to be offensive still". I sometimes have trouble telling a C109 over a Harley just because of the look but I always acknowledge the rider next to me.

I don't think I have missed a cruiser in the the past 12 months, even if it is just a glance I can't resist checking out the other bikes.

I have noted a a few threads where guys have written about undertaking repairs during winter and your mention about 'A few months of summer'. How lucky am I that I can comfortably ride at least 300 days a year. Hoody under jacket and full finger gloves in winter and fingerless gloves and vest on in summer.

WOW!!! That was HARSH!!. If you don't have anything nice to say about someone else's bike, then maybe you should just be quiet. I personally love my big windshield on my C, especially when riding at night. I can duck behind it and no bugs hit me in the face. I'm also not buffeted by the turbulence from no windshield, which can be quite a bit at 100+

    Talking Viva La Difference

Can you imagine the place if we all liked the same things in a bike. Me, I love my bike, as it is but I can appreciate most other bikes and I can see why others might not appreciate mine. I would never ride a sports bike again (even if my artificial knee would let me) but I can see why others do. I would not fit a windscreen to an M but I think it fits the overall look and feel of my C. It keeps those bugs off as well which here in Australia can spoil a ride outback where the flies and grasshoppers will carry your bike away if you leave it unattended too long.

Fairings and windshields-screens are not actually my favorite either but if you live in a cold weather region they are great. I think you get less tired out with one on long trips also, but then again i would be more rested if we took the car and i slept while the wife drove.

    Dude,

I hear you. I was like you for many years. Only wimps had windshields on their bikes. I agonized over getting the C109 or the M109 for just the reasons that you stated. My dealer had a black C109 RT on the floor for months. Every time I went into the shop, this thing beckoned to me like the sirens to Ulysses. It just looked right, windshield all. In the end I swallowed my macho pride and bought the thing. After a while I began to really appreciate the C109 windshield. It is not intrusive at all and makes the bike look even better. The real surprise was how much I liked not getting buffeted by the wind. Not having this factor greatly reduces fatigue and makes for a much more relaxing ride. Call me a sell out, wimp, cager, whatever is your pleasure. My bikes from now on will have the windshield. Rock On!

Ya.. I dunno I took the windshield off my C for a bit.. mainly cause I had to to spin on my new mirrors.. but I left it off for a few days.. just seems wierd without it.. huge wide bars.. with not much going on in the middle since the gauges are on the tank...

I ride my wife's crotch rocket time to time with out a windshield.. and my old virago didn't have one.. so it's not the wind.. heh

I'm older and was in right after Vietnam...it wasn't a good time to be in the military, but that way of life is very different than where I live, I don't care when anyone is there!
