Default I was finally Baptised today! (rained on)

I decided to ride my bike into work this morning since it is sunday and the car is almost empty and the scoot had a full tank. Checked the weather after getting up a little early and saw nothing on radar! Hopped on the bike and started heading into work. Nice ride all the way except for the few semis i had to pass and got cut off twice for no appearant reason. I was on I95n going to Jacksonville,fl where it is 3 lanes on each side and only a hand full of people on the road, but i still get cutoff!?!?! Some people are douches...... anyways back on topic...... Made it all the way up here and the last turn before turning into work the sky opened up and got me!!!! Literally 200ft from my job site! It was bound to happen i guess. lol Oh well hopefully the ride home is better since i'll be taking the scenic route.

Hope you all are having a good day today!

Enjoy the liquid sunshine. Now you're not just a fair-weather rider.

Palatka is in the "sunshine state" but it can and will rain at any time. If you worry about rain the bike will never leave the garage.

That's the truth. I never leave in the rain, but I've sure got caught enough times. We've gotten so that if it's not raining, just take off and hope for the best. Gives you a good excuse to do a full detail on the bike.

I got caught several times in my 1st 2 months of getting the 9. One time was an extremely heavy rain storm winding curvy switchback style ride at about 20 MPH .The stock tire sucked in wet weather riding and I had to stop 2 times in 50 miles and pour the water out of my boots. A year later I had gotten my first set of Dunnie E 250 and 130 and I could not believe the difference in wet weather riding.

My baby is filthy today after a wet road, rainy ride yesterday. Not heavy downpours, but those nuisance light showers. The 30 mph gusts didn't help either. The bike is a BEAST. I call her Cinderella, but she's more like Super Woman. Rider, she can take it...clean her off and she'll be ready to rumble again. I got my first rain gear yesterday too. I won't be so timid next time.
I left in the rain too. It was the off and on type, so doable.

Haha that is what my bestfriend calls me. He rides his bike to work daily because his truck(nissan titan v would kill him. My bike is for pleasure. I just try to avoid the rain. You know the whole two wheels on a slippery road does not add fun to the ride.

That is most definitely the truth about Florida.

Well the return ride home was nerve wrecking as we had 10-15mph winds here yesterday afternoon so i hopped off the I95 and took the long way home since it was all back roads at lower speeds. I think ill just use the car for work and the bike for fun. Now only a few more hours and i get to go wash my scoot and make her all pretty with no more spots!

I have more luck with the lottery than with some weathermen.

The stock tires definitely don't give me much confidence in the rain. Maybe I'll switch early to a new set of rubber.

Here how it is to live up here....weatherman one week ago, " Sunday 30% chance of rain. Same weatherman Saturday, " 0% chance of rain. Sunday, rained most of the morning. They were more accurate 7 days prior, than the day before!

Predicting weather isn't fun. Mother nature has a cruel sense of humor at times. Lol

Never done it, but I would like to compare it to one of our afternoon thunderstorms. You can tell the drivers that aren't from Florida, they turn on the hazard lights, go slow as heck and cause wrecks. Then they pull over and leave their hazards on so the people that are following will run into them on the side of the road.
We can get 3-4 inches of rain in a 30 minute shower, the storm may only be 2 miles across, in football practice we used to walk away from the rain as it approached. Or stick your hand out and it would be the only thing getting wet. Really unique weather.

I could set my watch from those daily rains. 1 in the afternoon, give or take a minute. And yes they were strong rains.....
In an age of synthetic images and synthetic emotions, the chances of an accidental encounter with reality are remote indeed.
