Can you guess what this is and why it is significant to me today?

Putting on your Suzuki Engine guards. Have fun, they can be a bit of a pain. Check my profile for the thread I stared on it. There are some pics and good help there.

    Ding ding ding ding

Correct. The reason why it is significant is because after I got everything off and the right side bar on I realized the spacer does not fit the bolt that is supposed to go through it for the leftside . I'll be calling Suzuki to give them an ear full.

If you order OEM highway bars make sure you check this first.

Known issue. Been like that for years. Suzuki has been told about it but obviously they didn't fix it.

Did you grind/file down the upper "clutch-side" (right side when looking at the front of the bike)? if not, you should.

I just ran into the same problem. I just put mine in a vise and drilled it out one size bigger.

I had the same problem. I just replaced the spacer with a stack of washers, you will not see them anyway.

It's funny (sad), because you would think that when you buy a factory accesory, everything would fit. When I began my install, and dicoovered this problem. The only thiing I could say to myself is "REALLY". Then I went digging in my washer bucket for 5 or 6 washers that I could use to make a spacer. Worked out just fine.

    Default 147 or 047

    Bully,

Was that Suzuki part number 990a075147 or 990a075047? I recently installed the "147" kit and the spacer was OK.

Mine was the "047" and had to drill.
