Haha if she starts doing that she won't need you around anymore. You need to keep her from doing a few things just so she will find you useful.

This is what I have ...

Good thing about Canadian Tire is they ALWAYS have super sales on tools and other items. I got it for 50% off around Christmas last year.

I know most of you are Americans but I figured I would post it here for the Canucks and Americans who are close to the border.

I got the aluminum one from H.F. Love it. Goes down nice and smooth. After you brake it loose, your able to control how fast it goes down.

Its real light weight to move around.
What other people think of you is none of your business.

I have one like this. They are made by Fulton Industries. It has no hydraulics. It's a screw-jack. Just hand crank the bike to the height you want and you never have to worry about it bleeding down or setting any locking pins. When you're done you just hand-crank it back down. Smooth as silk. They are kinda pricey brand new but I got lucky and got a good deal on a used one.

You guys still have my interest! I would love to jack it during the months I won't ride. This jack would be good for that....more looking!

Don't we all "jack it" during the months we don't "ride"?

Good point Dave....thanks. I had 13 minutes to decide! I'll go look at HF tonight. Don't need it right away anyway.

I like the craftsman because it is very light, and you can slide it under, crank up and the bike will basically stand right up on it when you lift. It is that easy. On the other types of jacks, they don't feel as stable when you start the lift. Once they have the bike up and off the ground they work great, even the cheap cheap HF lift.
I bought my craftsman new, in the box, from craigslist for $50.

IMO that's very expensive for what you're getting

Wayne I didn't read the entire thread so it may have been mentioned. That jack you are looking at has safety arms to keep the jack from lowering in the event it leaks down when stored for an extended periods of time. I bought a Larin jack a few years ago that has them and IMO are a good safety precaution. Mine was 200 back then. The only thing I wasn't happy with is the rubber pads didn't hold up well. It also came w/ an adapter for different frame mounts. My Sabre, the motor sat below the frame so a straight arm would not clear the engine. This is the one I have in black. Me personally, I would not trust my bike on a jack overnight w/o safety locks.

    Just some food for thought.

IT'S NOT ABOUT HOW FAST YOU GET THERE, IT'S ABOUT THE RIDE ITSELF. TAKE YOUR TIME AND ENJOY IT!!

Thanks Bernie. I'm going to look around. I wouldn't expect to keep it raised that long. I'm no mechanic. Just think it'll be handy to have around.

Good deal except for the shipping. Those things weigh about 30-40lbs, don't they? Might be as much as the jack itself. I wouldn't mind meeting half way or something...let me see what I find new. I didn't get to go to Harbor Freight last night. Actually, I forgot...if you sell it, you sell it. Can't win them all!
