Default PRAYERS FOR MY FAMILY. 2 MEMBERS SHOT BY COPS IN 2 WEEKS

I'm here with a heavy heart for my family, my brother-in-law was killed in North Miami during some sort of operation that went wrong 2 weeks ago (still under investigation, no answers) and two days ago, my nephew an National Guardsman gets shot during a traffic stop here in NY. Apparent road rage on the officers part. (officers being investigated for too aggressive tactics)
What a tragic waste and makes us loose confidence on the ones that should be protecting us from evil.

Guardsman was your nephew? Wow, that hits close to home. So sorry. There are bad apples in every career. I wish we could rout them out before they do stupid cap like this...

Very sorry to hear about your family members. Found an article on your nephew. I hope those cops get what's coming to them.

I'm waiting for the usual Cops coming to defense and defending the actions of the cops.

I still really want to believe that these stories represent a minority. But more and more stories like this are showing up and more lives are being taken by them.

My deepest sympathy goes out to you and your family who are victims in a totally unnecessary act of bad cop conduct. I hope in the end you see justice come to those officers.

Yet another case of crooked cops, sorry for your loss, hopefully those guys get life without parole to think about what they did...and then killed in prison lol.

I looked the story up and this article paints the picture a little differently. You have a drunk driver that fled from cops with their lights on, a passenger with atleast one arrest for dui( probably not pro cop) and a crooked cop on suspension in the back seat supposedly sleeping during a pursuit. By the witnesses own starement the driver dropped his hands down after being ordered to raise his hands. There was a power drill on the floor. At 5:15 a.m. its pretty dark out and it may have looked like he was reaching for a weapon. It's starting to look less like a couple of road raged cops and more like a justified shooting based on what the officers percieved was happening. If you thin someone is reaching for a weapon you dont wait and see what happens, you take action. Your number one job everyday is to make it home. If someone else finds info showing the cops at fault please share it. Also, why is that everytime someone posts a cop story we get people coming out of the wood work screaming that cops are evil when you hear one side of the story?

You know they are going to dig up everything they can to paint all the people in the car as no good criminals as well as everything on the officers, just like the two cases brought up against the officer the NYC had to settle out of court. I guess only time will tell and I'm sure you know how tough that is with the BLUE WALL that exists. Even if one of the other officers saw something else they will not come forward.

Not saying all cops are bad because there are some good ones but maybe it's because more and more things happen everyday like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NGGzJm6qX30 This cop was suspended with intent to dismiss but it seem's the only way a cop gets what they deserve is when there is undisputable video evidence. Along with this there is also a lawsuit being filed against the department and the officer.

I was raised to believe that police were the good guys until one proves you wrong. I firmly believe that the majority of police ARE the good guys. I do not know the facts.....not news stories....of either so I won't comment. My condolences to you and your family.....

I just saw this. Very sorry for your loss JR. I don't think this thread is the time or place to have a debate about good/bad cops and whether anything was justified. Bottom line, it sucks that lives were taken, regardless of whether they deserved it or not.

Thank you Harris and everyone. We buried my nephew on Thur. It was a military burial and he was promoted to SRGT. I was actually impressed with the the speech that Rev. Al Sharpten gave at the funeral, He did not make it a "Racial" thing. He was a great person and we will miss him.
Thanks again guys for all the support and well wishes
