Default Russell all day long seat

I have tried the Ultimate seat and sent it back. I have a Gel Full Cut seat, hard like a rock, but better than stock. I have owned 2 Corbins in the past on my sport bikes, very hard and was worse than the stock Busa seat, but better than the stock ZX9 seat.
So I ordered a Russell All Day Long seat and it is here.

For those of you who do not know about these seats:
They have you fill out a form with your measurements
They request pictures of you flat footed on the bike and with your feet on the pegs in your riding position
They will rework the seat at no cost if you are not comfortable....twice

That being said they are ugly in my opinion, but at age 41 I am starting to favor function over form.
Here are the pictures on and off the bike. My opinion after a quick 5 mile ride is my butt died and went to Heaven. It is incredibly comfortable and will do a long ride soon to confirm.

I hope you settle into it a long way or I would need 5" risers! If so, and it's comfy, there's not much of a price tag for that. I definitley wouldn't want to ride that high. I'm actually a rare one who doen't have too much complaint on the stocker.

edit: Hey Dave, didn't know that was you...I recognized the garage!

I looked on their website the other day to see if they did something for the 9. I agree they are butt ugly but, like you, I'm more into comfort than looks if I'm gonna be on the bike all day.

Wayne you goofball!!! Check out the new rims on the Camaro...schweeet!!

You sit down into it. They call it a pocket.
You can come over and put it on your bike any time you want.

I have had my 9 for 5 years, ridden 400 plus miles in a day and really don't complain much about the seat, but it is starting to feel thin. So I have given thought to a new seat or having mine redone.
Do you mind if I ask about the cost? I am a major skinflint but with my final check heading out this month for payments I will have a few dollars to spend. I like the idea of comfort. Most of the seats have not had really great reports for the actual comfort they give.

The pics were poor on the website. It showed the seat in the best view. I am exposing it here for all to see.
The total cost was $520 + $25 to ship them my stock seat which they used to make this.
It also included a rain cover. They do not put plastic on their seats beneath the vinyl to get better breathing for hot days. Ultimate did the same thing. She said with the pattern I chose that the stitching would provide the coolest ride in the summer.

    We shall see

Check the my last reply. I was typing when you posted.
Comfort is far and away the best. In fact it is better than my ergonomic computer chair I am typing this from.
Worth every penny compared to the other seats (Corbin and Ulitimate) which were same money.
Also mine is more expensive because I am 300 lbs and they require extra support. I think like $45 more for me.

Those wheels are awesome...got the 60's and 70's look to them. I remember those days...went on a ride out of the Worcester area, hit more CT roads...great up in that corner too! You need to ride that bike some more...let me know!

That is the FUGLIEST seat I have ever seen for the 9, and $545?!?! It had better kneel down in front of me and service me for that kind of money!

    NO THANK YOU!!!

I'm a tad over 300 myself, price seems to be in line with what other companies are charging, seems strange since you can buy a big boy lazy boy recliner for the same price. I just need to figure out the mounting brackets and I would be good to go!

If you are that unconcerned with looks why not just carry a chunk of memory foam with you. Better yet, duct tape it to the seat.

600-1000 miles on the seat so far and it is incredible.
I have had at least two 250 mile days on it and I am just as comfortable on the first mile as I am on the last mile.

i understand the comfort issue, but it still looks like granny's doughnut. Might look better on a Goldwing, but if you like it, thats all that matters.

Corbin has a much softer seat out now. I think it has been out for almost a year now.

Default Camaro is Hot . .Seat . . is Not (IMHO)

I agree that I would rather be a bit uncomfortable than to have a seat on my bike that looks like you have to insert quarters in it to keep it "servicing" me. Just not for me. The Camaro however is hot.

I ride with peregrine and I have to say, he had the seat the last time, and I never noticed the look of it. It's only when it's sitting there and even then you don't notice. If it's that comfortable, it's worth it. Ok, it won't be a show bike!

Not everyone can look as good as you my man.
Besides you can't see the seat when I am sitting on it.
