I've seen this type of light system posted on here before. I'm not sure if this is the same kit though.
Very cool. I'd install one of these. :)
I would also like to know if others have bought this kit too though.

BigPapa has/had a kit like that. I think after trying it out he decided to just put back in his HID kit.

I had the 35w kit. After having a BiXenon kit, the projector beam was like a nightlight. Very cool angel eye/ demon eye effect, but not good for night riding whatsoever.

I have one installed from ktauto.com it is a little cheaper that your posting.
    What I like about it:
it directs the light where you need it without blinding oncoming traffic.
it has cool angel/devil lights (lol)
    the ballast is small
    the price wasn't bad

    What I don't like:
the 35w "extra bright" bulb... wasn't
I upgraded the ballast to a 55 watt. this made the projector awesome for me. I love it.
It is not an easy install per se because you have to split the headlight apart to install it.
I did have a fuse blow while at the meet in Blacksburg, but it wasn't the fault of the light.
I have no clue what bulb to use as a replacement. You won't be able to stick a stock bulb in out on the road. Nor will you easily find a replacement at the auto parts.

All in all, the other HID lights aren't the best choice in our reflector lens (stock light) and there are some federal laws on this for a reason. It can blind oncoming drivers. The projector I used was the KTauto motorcycle kit. If I were to do it again I would buy the bigger kit. I don't remember the number, but if you email and ask they will tell you which to use. Use the biggest that you can fit in the headlight housing. The drawings with sizes are on their website. I am still satisfied with the light, though. If I have other issues with it I will work them out the best I can.

I upgraded to a 55watt ballast and it is very good now, but I agree the 35 watt isn't good enough.

I tried all sorts of different lights. They where all like night lights. The speeds we would like to go and the distance we see is no way close to safe.

I ended up with two 100w off road hard chrome spot lights. Now that's bright. Just had to adjust then so you don't blind on coming traffic. I just have to find another way to mount them. They are made for the roof or bumpers. Jumped from them to my 08 orange and miss my spot lights.

Right now the bike looks like E.T. Like to put them one over the other to match the lines of the nine.

How do you define "very good now" is the 55w somewhat comparable to an HID kit?

The 55watt is an HID. Very good means that I an see way better that before and because it is the projector lens, O am not blinding other drivers. Think of an HID that focuses all of that light to where you need it instead of everywhere.

That's what I like about the 100w off road beam. You can put them where you want. I have one for the high beam and one for the low beam. It projects the light out where you need it and have time to stop if need be.

I thought I seen a post where you had an accident and that's why you put those ridiculous looking lights on.

I had the same kit as draggin61 and even upgraded to the 55w ballast. I absolutely hated the light and the visibility it gave. During the day, you really aren't noticed and that is a huge safety issue. At night, it is better than stock but not as much as I would like for a hid. I have since put back in a sport tivia hid and love it!

A lot depends on where you live. We have a ton of dark back roads that we ride alot, where there are not many street lights. If I was in a very well lit area all the time then it would be fine considering the cool factor.

What is a streetlight, lol when I first put an HID in it was very bright, but it was not well focused. It was better that stock, but not much. The range was limited and it was blinding anyone in front of me and oncomin cars. It wasn't worth it. I put the projector in and even at 35 watts it was a little better. The 55w is very good for me and almost all of my riding is country roads. And yes they are very dark.
Not discounting what you are saying bigpapa, just relating my own experience.

Maybe this will help, if you want a simple install, buy an HID kit.

If it's adjusted properly, that won't be an issue.

And that depends on the hid that you install. If I ha adjusted mine to not blind others, it would have pointed at the front fender. The projector does provide "cut off" that is necessary for using an hid in a reflector lens.

That is weird. I adjusted the projector and no matter what, didn't like the light it emitted...even with 55w. I have my hid adjusted and never had anyone flash brights at me, yet I can see wider and further up the road than the projector.

does your HID have the metal shield on top of the bulb? If so that may be the difference. One thing is for sure, not all HID's are equal.

The standard HID should have the shield. The projectors do not have a shield.

That is correct except not all standard HID's have the shield. The projector doesn't need the shield.

I believe that the shield is only found on those that have the Xenon Hi and Low. If it is the dual bulb, Xenon-Low and Halogen-Hi it doesn't have the shield or "globe" as some like to call it. It does however have a paint covering on the tip. I have the Sportiva and I love the light coverage. Although I haven't had people flashing at me, I can care less as flashing means that they saw me. If it bothers them, then they can re-direct their sights and can look at my helmet.

I believe it does have the shield. In comparison to Mary's HID, they are close enough that I cannot tell the difference. I do agree, not all are equal.

I have the Sportiva HID Lo/Halogen Hi. It has no shield over it. I haven't been flashed by anybody yet.

i have that exact kit, and love it, the only advice i could give you, is when you're gluing front clear plastic back on, that you make sure it's on level ground...don't want the glue to run up the inside of your freshly glued piece of clear plastic...yeah, ask me how i know...

You really don't need to glue it. When you take it apart, if you heat it enough and are careful, plenty if not most of the glue remains. Use a heat gun and heat the plastick (not the headlight) and get it gooey and just push it back in. it locks in the tabs and is done.

They have a few more options than they did when I purchased mine. It is the same brand as the ebay link in the OP. When I purchased mine they only had one available for motorcycles and it is the smaller one. I would definitely buy the biggest one that would fit if I were buying today. And it would be the 55watt.
