I had that same feeling 4 years ago and i didnt have people around to tell me not to sell!! I only had the buzzards(people wanting to buy my bike) telling me ALL kind of crazy stories from "maybe its a sign to sell bcuz you might go down!"---"i think you past the phase of riding!"--"you grown out of the experience!" and silly me, I said it was time to sell!! and that was the longest 4 years of my life!!...my suggestion!...paint it(bike)..or take a breather BUT DONT SELL bcuz when you sell it and your M109R is carted off and your counting the cash!!!......you gonna feel good....when that cash run out or serve its purpose!!...THATS WHEN YOUR GONNA SEE ONE OF THE M109R's at a stop light & thats when your gonna be sick to your stomach...trust me as long as i can ride i will never sell my bike EVER again unless I am getting RIGHT on another one as a swap or upgrade of some type!! i know everyone is different but riding is my medicine for stress! So i hope you just take a breather & not sell!

From the first motorcycle I own to this one I currently own, I never gone a single day without owning a motorcycles. I don't think I can do it, even I don't ride everyday, it just have to be there waiting for me.
I primarily use my garage entrance to enter my home just so I can see my motorcycle and touch her. Yes it is true, she get my attention first before the wife, but don't tell the wife who is second or the wife might be waiting in the driveway first.

Keep you ride brother, you are just taking a rest... there is usually an event in your life that causes one to have these phases. Think deep, the bike can be your escape

Totally agree. Killed me when I sold my last bike. Took 2 years of regret before I fixed that mistake.
When it's time (If ever) there will be no doubt in your mind. No Doubt at all.
If it does happen, It will most likely it will be another passion that replaces the scooter.

I don't see myself ever selling mine, unless I go with a different bike, or health reasons prohibit me from riding....

My third summer with my 9, First 2 years I rode about 6,000 miles per year. I know many of you rode alot more than that. Family and work does not allow me much time to escape for the weekends. I had major back surgery in March- didnt ride till May this year. Ive put about 1,000 miles on this year.Ive thought of selling, but like someone just said- the joy of walking by my 9 when I get home at night-PRICELESS. I dont get that feeling by looking at my house, with is more valuable!

When I start not riding my bike as much I sell it and get another bike. Something a bit different rejuvenates the love of riding and the fun of exploring and customizing your ride

Abejjani, thanks so much for posting this, I'm in the same boat and didn't want to say anything. There was a chain of events that just keeps leading me down the wrong thought process, bad ride, wrong paint job, no recognition on a show. Reading this post has helped a bit but I hope more guys chime in and post some positive stuff to help guys like us that just feel "out of the riding scene". I know if I sell I'll regret it but riding isn't the same either, so like all the guys say just hang tight, things will change. I'm with you too brother, lets try to ride the storm out!

Once its gone you can't get that feeling back unless you buy again. If the bike is paid for it really doesn't hurt leaving it there for when that feeling hits.

You just need a good ride to get the feeling back again. I get busy once in a while and don't have time to ride for a week or two and start thinking maybe I'm getting tired of riding. Then we pick out a good ride and I get the feeling back again, like I want to jump back on it and take off again. Think of somewhere you've ridden that left good memories and repeat it.

I find myself looking for excuses just to get the 9 out and ride, nice weather does make the ride so much better.

Try to hook up with friends/co-workers for ride so it becomes more than a ride it becomes part of a fun outing

I have troubles modding my 9 cause every time I go out to work on it I end up taking off on it

(agree with others, if it's not costing you anything now just keep it. I hate selling my toys)

Maybe you need an adventure. Something unplanned and spontaneous. For me, it's not always about the bike, sometimes it's about the memories of new found places and people, of the unexpected experiences. A motorcycle is a fantastic vehicle for the possibilities because of the feeling of freedom you get as soon as you sit on it.
Political correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.
