Default Barnett Clutch Cables, can't find them anywhere

Hey all. Had my OEM clutch cable break at the actuator head down by the engine. That was fun. It went out at a stoplight. I thought I got hit from behind. Had to push it home nearly 3 miles on a sidewalk, lol. Fond memories.

Anyway, I can find links to the Barnett Clutch Cable (usually directline), but they don't seem to carry it anymore. Can't find it anywhere else. Anybody know if it's discontinued or what's the deal? Lots of MotionPro, which I know nothing about.

Barnett quit making them, so MotionPro is probably your best bet.

Barnett has a new version in the works but a few of our members here are still working with Barnett on needed improvements. As for Motion Pro, they are back ordered for a long time. There is no other game in town currently.

Try here for the Motion Pro. http://www.hellrisercustoms.com Ask for bill and tell him that Rich from the M109riders board sent you.
Just got +3 Motion Pro the other day from him when NO ONE has them right now. They came through when DLP could not on several items. They cannot beat DLP's pricing, but when time matters, they are tops.

I have the prototype Gen4 Barnett cable and lever in the garage right now. Will be looking at it in depth this weekend. Alot of the members saw it at the MAM where barnett wanted it viewed. They are not totally in production yet, but it will be pricey. It comes with their lever for our bikes and uses a harley type cable. I will be trying to see if a stock or aftermarket lever can be adapted to work with their cable. This will not be easy guys and I am not to sure barnett has not shot their foot with this idea. As it is right now, the cable can not be used on our bikes by itself.

Sent from EVO bouncing off a couple satellites.

    Thanks!!!!
Hi - thanks for the order.

Motion Pro is the only company that makes SS clutch cables for the
M109/C109 - and they did not correctly forecast the demand. They do
not expect to have stock until October. We have a limited supply of
stock length on hand (you got one of them) and we have found a way to
order more (of any length) until that special supply is gone.

We don't want to tip our hand as to how we are able to do it, so we
aren't saying much - just letting our customers spread the word to
those that badly need a cable. As riders, we "get it" about what a
bummer it is when you can't ride. The most common lengths in demand
are stock and 3 inches over - which is why we now have them listed in
a way to show availability - but we can get most lengths needed.

Thank Rich for the referral - he did you right.

We will ship your order on Wed via Priority Mail because it should be
the quickest way (without doing faster shipping) and expect you'll
    have it Friday or Sat.

Why can't our stock or aftermarket levers be used?

    Default Clutch cable

I have a Barnett clutch cable still in the package back at the house. If you get into a bind and really need one let me know and I can have the wife ship it to you. I am in Afghanistan right now and don't get on here as much as I would like. Let me know and we can work something out.

    Default Clutch Cable

I have gone back to the oem after 2 Barnetts went at the bottom. What I did find that that where the cable comes out of the adjuster at the bottom, the angle comes out about 10 Degrees off vertical. I bought new bracket, heated it up and made it vertical so now the pull from the adjuster is straight up and you get a more direct pull. Hope this helps. This was about 10 months agao and no probs so far.(But now I carry a spare )

My stock cable broke today. After reading on here I called DLP they were out of stock. Called up Bill and ordered a cable and the adjuster that goes into the lever. It cost a litle bit more but he was great to talk to and very helpful. Bill said they would ship the cable out today the other part he will have to order. I told him I read about it from Rich from M109riders so I don't know if that helps you out or not but either way I said it. I will post a review when I get the parts in.

Because in the prototype the changed the end at the lever and had to make of modify a lever to make it work. As I think most of the failures came from the lever side. Hense the new design. You could always just go hydraulic as an option.

That was what happened to me last year. Was at the lights too, broke at the moment I slowed down and the bike jumped as if some one knocked into it. Was looking at the scooter behind to see if he hit into me.

I hope barnett does not waste to much time and money producing that so-called new and improved cable which requires the purchaser to buy the new lever and cable as a whole assembly. I did look at this new set up at the meet and I can say, I will not be buying it. I find it hard to believe that this was their answer to the cable breaking. Is it really that difficult to build a proper cable that can be used with stock or aftermarket levers....So, now if you have expensive aftermarket levers or you modified your stock levers you are stuck just throwing them away because barnett's solution did not bother to take into account that most folks have aftermarket levers or chrome and just throwing money away is not at all a good chioce to have to make. If and when my barnett 2nd gen. fails, I will take a shot with Motion Pro. IMHO, Barnett was lazy and took the easy way out. Cable actuated clutches on big displacement bikes is far from a new concept and yet Barnett can not figure out where THEIR weak link is on their cable.
