I had a Fram filter fail on a car and don't use them anymore. I use Suzukis' filter and as for oil I use Red Line 10/40 full synthetic for motorcycles but wouldn't hesitate to use any quality brand as long as it's full synthetic and says "for motorcycles" so you know it will work for your wet clutch
Political correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

I use Motul Etech E100 and the oem filter. It's pricy, but good stuff!

This Forum search engine sucks. Try searching oil, what comes up? Nothing.... After searching Yahoo and Google I found several Best or which oil on this Forum, but the Forum engine shows nothing.
Most of us use Mobil 1 or Amsoil or Valvoline. I use K&N oil filter KN-138

I am not a lover of Fram or K&N.. Fram is arguably one of the worst filters made. I don't think the K&N's filter very well and about 2 years ago some members here did some cut-aparts that pretty much verified that. Mobil 1 is the same as the K&N.
AMSOIL, WIX, Purolator ML Series.. NEVER a Pure One.
For oil.. AMSOIL MCF, Mobil Racing 4T or Motul 300V
If your choice is AMSOIL, give me a call. You can't beat my prices,

I've been using the NAPA 1359 filter, which is made by Wix. NAPA actually carries the Wix too, part number 51359.
The last couple changes I've been using Shell Rotella T6, which is a synthetic in 5w-40. Prior to that I've used Amsoil, Mobil 1, and the Suzuki standard oil, in 10w-40 and 20w-50. I can't tell a lot of difference in any of them, other than right after you change it seems to shift better with any of them.
Life has no remote control, get up and change it yourself.
Alright guys, I went with Valvoline 20w50, NAPA 1359 Filter and Lucas 80w90 Gear Oil. I should be good for a couple thousand miles.
Thanks for all your help![]()
You just said it... "Made for cars" ...
The Pure one cannot be used in a Powersports application. The filter media is too dense. This can cause oil pressure and flow issues. The filter could go into by-pass and, although people will say "I've never had a problem", the truth is you won't know that you are circulating unfiltered oil.

It is a Very good filter, just not for any PowerSports application. If you have a place like an autoparts, that stocks Purolator, They should be able to order the ML Series which is specifically made for PowerSports Applications.

They may be made in China but, they are made to Purolators Specifications. Although I got this information from a MANN Rep, who is Purolators parent company, I will delve into a little further as you have spiked my curiosity. It is called World Marketing and unfortunate for some of us.
I believe by the tests I have seen that they are a good filter and give them the #3 position right now. WIX #2 and AMSOIL #1 at 20 Micron Absolute and still flow properly.

I do, yes... The problem with OEM filters is many go out to bid every 1-3 years and you never know whos filter you are buying. The only Specs they will need to follow is flow rate, by-pass setting and if it is equipped with an Anti-Drain Back valve. No consideration is given to construction, Micron Ratings or Particulate Capacity.
