just wondering how many kilometers do you get otu of a tank of gas when your bike was new and lets say after 1000 kilometers if your millage increases or stays the same, my gas light started falshing at 180 klicks that was my first tank of gas but there was about 2 gallons of regular gas in it from the dealer so i will fill it again and see what i get this time thanks for your input

Have honestly never let the fuel get down that low. In October/November, I didn't know which ride would be my last for the year, so kept it topped up to the brim and ready for stabilizer. This spring, I'll play with it a bit more. I'm also curious to hear answers to this question. There are a number of threads on the main board about mileage, if you're interested.

Looks like mileage for the 109 is all over the map. I think this bike gives you so much throttle that you can burn through fuel like water if you ride like your hair's on fire. Prior to heading to Sturgis in August though, I definitely want to have a good sense of my single-tank range so I know which gas stations in Wyoming I can bypass. My buddy on the Harley is, I believe, now back in for the trip, so we'll be stopping every 18 minutes for his Sporster anyways ::)

So far mine starts flashing at about 180kms too, I wouldn't be concerned. I have rode 50kms with it flashing and it never came on solid.

Should also add that you did go through the dealership, pass by the M50's, M90's, and Burgmann Scooters ... and came away with the biggest bike engine the Zuki dealer sold. Fuel effiency was a little lower on our priority list when we stacked up the pros and cons of the 9 ... :D Think of it as a Hummer with two wheels!

I started commuting on my bike this morning because it probably saves me a slight bit off my V6 Grand Am's fuel, but mostly because I want to start taking the long way home and get some good afternoon rides in.

Have a great weekend!

I'm an American so I can't give it to you in km"s. The most I ever got was 44 mpg and the least was 37. Now that I have 4000 miles on it and the weather is warming up I'm getting consistent 42's and 44's. This is general all around driving, some highway, back country roads , and a little city. When my light starts blinking I stop real soon because it annoys the crap out of me especially in the dark. Ever have your high beams on with the directional to turn and the flippin fuel light comes on at night....looks like Christmas :o. When I get gas I have at least 1.2 gallons left...sometimes 1.5. When I take my next long trip I'm going to TRY and keep off hard throttle just to see if I can get near 50 mpg like a few others have. I'm only gonna do this on the way to my destination...on the way back I'll ride like hell and be satisfied with low 40's :D Be safe my Canadian friends

I will chime in here for the 'over 200lb 80mph club'.

I commute almost every day, 30 mile (US) each way.

I log everything and see between 32 and 35 mpg. I know I do better when I travel at 70mph or slower (37-40 mpg), but then everyone is trying to run over my big arse........

I also consistently get in the low 40's for fuel mileage..but do remember, the days of switching the reserve lever are gone. :( I have to admit I did not buy this bike for the fuel mileage either

Mine came on at 180 city riding and I filled up at 192, it took 15.8 liters so about 35 mpg. Then i topped it off and went out on the highway, filled it up at 215 kms well before the light was on and it used 12.66 liters so about 45 mpg. I guess I could have made it the 300 km's round trip based on what it used to go 215 but since it was my first time on the highway I wanted to make sure i had enough fuel. The bike has 500 km's on it.

I get about 250K to a tank of gas and thats not real aggressive riding but normal cruising. Have had the bike for about 2 years now and that seems to be the norm.

Well I found the bottom of the tank this morning. :redfaced: Oops!! :D After the warning light stops flashing and goes solid you have about 15kms to hightail it to a gas station, unfortunatley that left me about 20kms from town. :edit: Luckily I was able to walk up to one of the neighbors on the highway (redfaced I might add) and he got me going, and of course he's an HD guy too. :redfaced:

Just went on a road trip.......with a north wind gusting around 70km/hr......interesting ride...LOL....anyway, my light started flashing at
256km........I figure I had about another 20km before empty.....Without the wind, I figure I might have gotten an extra 10 km........I used
approx. 16 liters of 91 octane fuel..........Not bad, I figure........

For sure, it certainly beats my superduty. I find i ride the bike more than ever now, i will probably continue to use it as much as possible this summer. I would like to ride it to and from the airport i fly out of but i need to find a safe place to park it as it will sit for 8 days while im up north working.

I had to try to drain my tank before taking it off to get to the painter. I ended up with 330 km before it actually ran out. I usually was filling at the 230 to 279 km range, but never realized that until the light goes solid and the fuel pump one actually starts flashing, I still had around another 30 km left to go.

I have been keeping track of mileage and seem to be pretty consistant with about 45 mpg, which is 20-23 more than either of my other vehicles. The only problem is I love riding my bike too much and drive around endlessly;).
