LOL...we're expecting 3-8" here in North-western Illinois...
I think that I'll pass.
I know quite a few people who are taking their bikes out on Jan 1st.
Screw that...I'll be recovering from the night before down state at a friend's house!
edit: We got all 8 inches of snow here....This sucks...it's still snowing some....

We are expecting 3-6 inches of the white crap today. So, no bike riding here in the KC area.
For several years, I would meet with a group of friends on New Years Day and go Jet Skiing on Milford Lake in Central Kansas. There were times we had to break holes in the ice to get the skis down the ramp.
I think if the roads are dry, I might start a similar day with my bike.

It was 20 degress when I left the house this morning at 8:30. I am now back at almost 11:00 and it is 25 degrees. My right hand (fingers) got so cold I thought they were going to shatter! :o

It was 24 degrees here this morning. No way was I riding to work :)
It should be nice this weekend though.
I rode for 1-1/2 hour yesterday @ 53degrees but the wind just about took me away a couple of times. :o

I know what you mean. I left here Sunday and it was about 40 degrees. After about 30 mins i had to pull over and change to some heavier gloves. Thought i was about to have frostbite..

I know you guys/gals are going to hate the 9er riders here in the sunshine state, but we never have to stop riden. It's a chilly 47* thismormimg,
taking my dogs to the vet at 9am, then going riden my 9er for a while. It's great now but when the temps hit the high 90's the riding gets
miserable, especially if you get caught in traffic.
Come south and ride with us.

Sounds like a great idea to me. Just took delivery of my new 109 R2 today. My dealer here in Michigan is transporting it to Tampa for me this weekend. I plan on a nice warm liesurly break in ride that will hopefully last about a month. :D

I saw your post on the calender, too cool April 15th I sure hope its nice as well, although here in the okanagan guys have been biking since march, I'm not that brave but i too will set my goals to be on the road by then as well. I wonder if hyway 1 will be clear by then, Jasper park can be quite nasty in the spring, as well as the pass in Golden B.C.! Hope to see you out our way this summer. I'll post some rides soon.
