Other terms could be: Budget bungee or poor man's tie down points. While waiting for Bungee Knobs on back order, I did this as a temporary solution. I took a very long trip and they worked great. And no one even noticed them. I am guessing that this was less than $5.

The photos are self explanatory. Remove the 4 allen bolts from the fender and replace them with longer bolts, but with a nut added to the replacements. You re-use the existing 2 nuts. The other two "nuts" are built-into the fender. The bolts I bought at Lowes are zinc plated:
2) 3 1/4" long and
2) 2 1/2" long. Both are M8 thread.
Then get 4 nuts and 4 washers.

I think DLP has a set of bungee buttons for like $20. With such a sweet looking bike I would spend a little more money. But I give you props for being inventive.

I think he said they were on backorder. He just did that so he could tie something down in the meantime.

I have used Eye Bolts and repace the stock allen head bolts before I head out on a long trip with my bags. Works great, take 2 minutes to install.
