Well I have been here a few months and I have read a BUNCH of great ideas.
I am looking to powder coat my stock wheels (black) and I figured that while I have the them all apart I may as well upgrade my tires from the stockers that are on there.
My question is this:
I am looking to drop my bike 2", run a Metz 260 on the rear, what Metz tire should I run on the front so that my front end is not all jacked up?
I was looking to go 160/260 but I just do not know if the 2' drop will make my bike look odd.
Thoughts?

It won't look odd. It'll look bad ass, and you'll never go back to a skinny front tire again.

Did you reverse the 160 or just went with the arrow?

The arrow is more a matter of preference. I personally run mine reversed, but have yet to hear a bad story about someone running with the arrow.

what? I thought all 160 rear tires ran up front needed to be run in reverse. :dontknow: maybe I missed something.
240 / 160 and luvin it. Had a 260 Metz - went with the stocker when I picked up a nail.

I think I'm going to Chapmandoo,
That's really, really where I'm goin' to.
If i ever get out of here,
I'm goin' to Chapmandoo ...! sorry Chap, no disrespect, just a lil Bob Seger on the brain!!
2" lowering links here. Not sure what you mean about looking jacked up. The 160 does have a larger side profile compared to the rear. Take a look at some of the members pic's to get an idea.

i had it installed reverse like the metz website reccomends....i prefer to heed the advice of those that have done this....
as for installin a 280 on a stock rim....seems pointless regardless of the reason to do it...more expensive tire, astronomical tire pressure and so many folks warn against it.....

I have the set you are looking for. I run the 160/260 Metz (160 reverse arrow) and have a 2.25 Cycle House Drop. Make sure when you drop it to grind off the bolts under the rear fender.

I still have the stock size front but I've seen just about every setup and the bike looks great with a 2" drop. Witness:

Reversing a rear tire for use up front has to do with the way the tire is constructed for the load it will see. A rear tire is loaded primarily in the drive direction. On the front, it's loaded primarily in the braking direction which is reverse.

Been running 160/260 for 13,000 miles now. Never going back. Not lowering because I like the twisties too much!
