Congrats! A few questions though? Why is there still some of the logo on the front caliper? Also, not sure about chroming right over the master cylinder lid with all the lettering... reason why there isnt more prep before chroming? A little worried that you are going to have some leaks with those calipers since the chrome job looks a bit rushed.

i can assure you that liquidpain DOES NOT rush any chrome job that he does. to do so would compromise quality, and thus far, i have received nothing but quality work from him and have been very satisfied. just because the lettering is on the cover does not necessarily mean that the job was rushed.
no leaks on my end.

That's a negative on that. The work is smooth, especially on the rim of the reservoir and around the lids where the 2 meet. AS far as as the lettering, looks awesome, all the threads were clean and the screws entered smoothly. From the looks of the work, and i inspected all the pieces, everything looks great and i can not complain.

Glad to hear that all is well with your parts. I guess what I see in the picture you posted is not what you received, or an optical illusion? That looks alot like a partial "Tokico" on the outer right front brake caliper assembly? If it isn't then I appologize and I will never post again in your presence. If it is then quit blowing smoke up my a$$ and say so... geez. Your pictures and feedback my friend

I remember that your chromer posted a picture of alot of parts all spread out together. I can spot your Tokico caliper in the line-up... I must need my eyes checked because to me that would never get shipped to a customer, PERIOD!

your bike looked good before all that chrome
is there anything you havent touched on your bike ?s
Yep, i mite, depending on how much time i have. Chrome or polish the bottom of the forks. Can't leave that out with all the other stuff done, it wouldn't be complete. I mite just wait until my SumoX fork covers arrive.
Oh, and there's the trees. I wonder if they only sold the top tree because it wouldn't matter much replacing the bottom part, jmo.

Ok, finally have an opportunity to continue installing some of my bling, bling. But before i get started, because i realized that the throttle side involves a little more work especially that i'm replacing the calipers also.
Anywho, looking for any do's & dont's when replacing my brake resevoir and calipers? It looked a little intimidating when i saw the calipers and no guts in it.:o
Help, don't want to make any mistakes especially that i have an important ride this sunday.
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, getting ready to read my service manual to see wassup. Mainly looking for some pointers and or hints that anyone else has encountered during the replacement of the calipers.
Are there any special tools that may be needed that will help the process.
Guess i better check the ShopTalk or How To section?

I have not ever done the brakes before i would think you would need to ck the OD of the pistons and the ID of the calipers to make sure you don't have any chrome in them. good luck....

Okay, did some research on this site about polishing and went to Sears & AutoZone to buy some goodies. Made sure that i cover everything i needed, probably bought more then was needed but what the heck. It's fathers day weekend so i thought id treat myself.
Here's everything i bought, I know, its overkill. But i dont like having to run out again and buy something i need.
Hope this is enough.

Thought about getting them chromed but i would have had to take them apart, and that's something i did not want to tackle???. So i decided to try the polished. Well, guess what:o? I DON'T WANT TO DO IT ANYMORE >:(! OMG :dontknow:, this is hard and i don't have the patience for the sanding this, sanding that, my goodness gracious. I'm ready to wrap it up and send it to someone else to take care of it. It's alot of work...
Hey nice pic there.
Well, I'm looking forward to my vacation to Puerto Rico especially after messing with these forks. You'll be on vacation soon. Enjoy and have a good time.

This is what i have so far. Dont really care to much about it because i cant get all the curves and tight areas as nicely polished as the obvious larger area. Tough work! I'm seriously thinking about taking them apart and sending them to liquidpain.

Send those babies out for chroming or just spray them glossy black. Black should make the rotors and calipers stand out

Yeah, i did think about spraying them the color of my bike. But I'm just going to send them to Jerry. Already spoke to him and i rather let the professionals deal with it. My thing is construction so i rather build homes or do remodeling then try to do polishing. :dontknow:
