Now all I need is a pine-tree air freshner tied to the handlebars. Special thanx and "Big Ups" to Lucky06 & James McCoy for all your assistance with my triple trees.

So what do you think?

Looks awesome

Do you notice any significant handling difference? Little less responsive in the twisties now? Feel any more stable at speed on a long straight?

:a18: I was just about to send you a PM asking if you got everything squared away but I guess I've got my answer. It looks awesome bro!! I'm not usually a big fan of the 21" front but it looks killer with those 3 degree trees. I should be getting mine back from McCoy soon so we need to get together and ride some or at least meet up and put some faces to names.

Like the paint and bling... just not a fan of the 21" front. Changes handling as well as the fender doesn't look right. Next mod is a custom front fender and matching paint and you will own that upgrade!

I usually ride the twisties pretty hard and I've got the same trees. I've noticed no difference in the handling at all except when your trying to back up or do a real slow turn and it doesn't cut as sharp. Other than that the bike feels real stable.

:agree:Very true on the handling. But my days of blistering corners are over. I'll blast the freeway or 1/4 mile all day long, but the twisties are for the "Ghosts of Fractures Past". I knew going into these changes that the handling would be affected (or is it effected :dontknow:), but that's okay because most of my friends ride choppers and custom Harleys and are not trying to see how fast they can get some where. My Bully's power is like a gun or condom. I'd rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it!

Lucky,
Hit me up when you get out of the lab.

I hear you on not blistering the corners. I've pushed this bike to it's limits and I'm working on dialing it down a couple notches and just work on polishing the techniques. I'll hit you up once I get my ride back.

Thanx. It is truly a process if you don't have a lot of dough to spend all at once. But that's the fun part. "Nines" are a working man's bike. It's fun going from ashy to classy at your own pace.

Three degrees doesn't sound like much but what a difference it makes in the look. AWESOME! I really like that long raked out look. Did you change the down tubes or are those the fat tube add ons?

I'm posting this from my blkberry so good luck reading this.

Thanx for the compliment. The forks are stock but these aren't the Kewel Metal fork tube covers. The triple tree set actually came with ots own set of fork tube covers. I had the Kewel Metal covers on my forks before and I loved them. They don't fit with the new triple tree set so I sold them last week. The ride is a little different and will take some getting used to. I guess its like getting used to a new bike.

I have to re-wire the LEDs to my front wheel. :dontknow:If I finish at a decent time to day, I plan to "pound" for a little while.:dontknow: I'll call or text when I'm done. I've been in the lab for almost a month and my bike has dirt, pollen, and handprints everywhere. I need to at least wipe it down.

Instead of dollars, I'll use the word "apples". It doesn't sound as painful. The triple tree set was about 1100 apples (got chrome instead of polished). The labor was about 500 apples. That doesn't include the RC wheels and the Sumo-X fender extender bracket. I've got to call Kurt at Sumo-X back because the tire barely fits under the fender. I need some minor adjustment advice to the fender bracket.

wow i love it where did you get the parts does dlp carry this stuff
the last time i screamed into corners was on my ducati
in the 70s when i here people talking about cornering or handling
i do find that funny because the 9 which i love is sorta like a chopper in comparison to a duke it doesnt take much to scape the pegs
any way my body wont let me ride one of those any more and was very happy the 9 was put into production for me i love coming around a corner into a merge and letting her go
cheers oldguy

Triple Trees from DLP. But I think I bought the last set. They only had 5.
The fender extender bracket can be ordered from Sumo-X.
You can't get the 21" wheel from DLP (last time I checked). I ordered my wheels from Xtremerevoultion.com. If you want a stock looking 21" wheel, Sumo-X is making them. I purchased my wheels before they started selling the replica 21" wheel. :edit:@#!% !!!
No more blasting the curves for me. I've got a beautiful woman to come home to and I'm not making her rich off of my life insurance policy! She's won't collect that money for a long, long time!!!
