Hi guy's. I was on another forum and some cool M owners :bigthumbsup:told me about this place. I would like to know what you think about the TRE. I know it will help me in the first three gears but will it damage my bike, and do you guys like the power commander or the bully for the controller? I will eventually add pipes and a new air intake system, just not now.

I too have a C and have not yet done the TRE and PC. I have heard nothing but good thus far though. Stay tuned as the other C owners will be glad to share

I use the TRE on my C and have only heard good things about it. So far, it's nothing but smiles.

I'm planning on getting the Bully Package when GMan has it ready; currently he only has the Bully (but not the air intake) for the C109. He said it shouldn't be too much longer. He's also going to offer a bundle deal with the Roadburner pipes (if I remember his post correctly).

First off, welcome to the forum, glad to have you aboard. I own an M109 but the motors are the same. The Timing Retard Eliminator or TRE simply advances the timing in the first three gears to give you more power where it's needed most, low end. There have been no adverse affects caused by any TRE currently on the market but some would pick a brand of TRE over another as there have been reported issues of factory defects in some makes. Other than that the TRE is simply a plug and play module and can easily be removed in order to return to your factory settings. It is a great buy and should be in the top 3 for the first modifications performed on this bike. Take care, ride safe. :doorag:

I just put a JSD-3M TRE on my bike a week ago. There is definately a difference, not an OMG difference but you will start smiling (mdean1962 is right). For such a low cost mod it is worth it. The power increase doesn't seems enough to cause damage. The only common complaint I have heard about the TRE is idle. My bike idles fine but I can hear a slight change in the exhaust note when I switch from neutral to 1st at idle. Also look at the GI Pro which gives you a switchable TRE and a gear indicator.

I will probably put a Bully on if and when I change the intake or exhaust. The Bully fits my needs a little better than the PC because it doesn't require maps.

This is great guy's, I'll do the TRE this spring. I don't know about anything else yet. Money and jobs are a little short right now in Michigan.

Last summer I road over 9000 miles, 5000 were on my new c109r and I got it in mid Aug. (not enough time). The bike is too much fun. I envy all that can still ride.
