This is just one way to upload a sig pic to your profile. There's a bunch of ways to do it but this is the preferred way because it will resize it for you. Try and reduce the size before to upload it. You never want to try and load a full res pic right out of your camera.
Remember that a signiture picture is not a profile picture. These are two different things.
