Wow, great work...very need idea. I can only imagine what different ways to finish it off. I would love to try that but make it in a way I could pop a few red led's in for the eys or something.

year...good idea..also it would be intresting to cut eyes, put some 'grill" and put some leds inside,so the eyes will glow from inside...thank's;)

I've wondered why nobody has yet to do any fiberglass work for our airboxes. My airbox cover on my vrod is all fiberglass but the guy doesn't have anything for the m109r. Nice to know someone who knows fiberglass is experimenting. Great job! Man I wish I knew how to do this stuff. Fiberglass opens up so many more options.

that is truly creative!

big papa-
i was thinking the same thing when you mentioned putting some led's in the eyes to have he glow effect.

just goes to show that customizing is only limited to one's imagination.

thats looks cool another thing you could do also is put leds where the eyes are put some red ones there i think it would look good i wouldnt mind doing that to mine being my 109 has the punisher theme to it.. how much does it cost to do that or how much would it cost for you to to and send it to the states

hey sorry bigpapa i didnt see you had the same idea as i did already LOL that would be a cool idea especially since already have bunch of leds on my 9 that are white and red and the skull like i said would be cool being my headlight has the punisher logo etched in it

if u want some additional ideas try gator customs. they are pricey, but there work is one-of-a-kind.

i have them doing some 109 and suzuki logos for me right now and have had them do some work on my R1 last year. subtle but awesome.

i'm glad you like it...do this kind of stuff isn't very dificult, you just need some sculpturing skills and a litlle patienc...cost is minimum.for matirials, let's say it would be about 20-30$

What a great idea:bigthumbsup:
I notice your mold doesn't have the mounting holes on the inside to screw it back on the air filter. How do you plan add the mounting holes and ensure that they are perfectly aligned?

This is my mounting plastic cubes, the screw goes to that plastic cubes and holds the filter..

I know for my gauge mounts on my airbox they used metal "L" brackets fiberglassed in and threaded em so you can use bolts instead of screws.

What is GIPS?

That's sick!!!...I love the stuff I find on this site:bigthumbsup::bigthumbsup::bigthumbsup:. So many people with so much knowledge and talent and most of them willing to share it, asking for nothing in return... still surprises me and I've been hanging around here for over a year now.

That's an amazing idea bro, make sure you show us the finished product.

OK, I should have done a web search. GIPS is plaster (presumably the same root as Gypsum)

Edit: Maybe not regular plaster, seems more like Dental Plaster...
I found references HERE (http://www.hirstarts.com/casting/overseas.html) to GIPS
(Denmark: Alabaster GIPS, Austria: ""Modellgips" from a firm called "Rigips", located in Bad Aussee", Germany: www.gipsboerse.de (http://www.gipsboerse.de/) caters only in dentalplasters. They have five different plasters (at various costs) and have a wealth of information about each and every plasters they offer downloadable as pdf's. Also technical details and pricelists can be downloaded.) ETC

I'll have to see about getting some dental plaster. I have tried regular plaster with poor results. (it shrinks)

These intake covers are really cool! Fiberglass is translucent; meaning light will flow through fiberglass as long as the fiberglass piece is not too thick. I think it would be cool paint the curved, non skull part portion, of the cover with light blocking paint and the skull portion with paint that allows light to flow through. Install the covers on the bike with a light behind the cover. At night the skull will look awesome.

I love the idea. I want a skull theme on my bike and that would go great. We would love it if you would sell them. On a scale from 1 to 10, what is the difficulty?

Great work!
